Combining two volumes on the same disc

Here's what I have:

I want disc two to be one disc with just the single partition while keeping all the data on it in tact.

When I go to extend it, it tell me that it has to convert it to a dynamic disc. What's that about and does it matter?

If so, how can I keep it basic while still extending it?

use gparted on a live boot cd

He's saying you can't do it with windows alone, you need third party software such as gparted .
