My girlfriend is pretty fed up with her N95, mainly because of the battery life. She loves the functions (photos and video), but doesn't use them because it drains the battery. So, I need to find a replacement. Preferably a Nokia, but with a decent battery and attractive looks (i.e. probably expensive).

I was considering getting her the N95 8GB, although it's a little old now, and I don't know how much longer the battery would last. Then I heard about the N96, but don't know if the battery is any good, or when it's out.

Any recommendations?

Sony Ericsson C905 (8mp camera) or the 902 (5mp camera) not a nokia but more or less has everything, although doesnt have gps, it does have google maps and doesnt have wifi. Not a bad looking phone nice to hold in the hand nice and thin and not bad on battery power.
Ohh and it will take a 8gb card!!

Certainly a contender as i dont think the direct replacment for the N95 the N96 (original eh!) is out yet.

As far as i can tell the N96 is out 1st October(for 3), as thats when the 3 store website will deliver it. However I can not get anyone fromn the callcentre to aknowledge this fact

install lastest firmware for the n95 and the battary is a lot better ive not charged mine in 2 days or so and thats been being used

I notice the N96 has the same battery life as the original N95 and a worse battery life than the N95 8GB. Also, the VGA video can only manage 15 frames per second (according to the Nokia website). In fact, the N95 8GB seems to have better battery life than the N82 as well.

What are the improvements of the N96 over the N95 8GB?
