I just fried my first egg.

Well there it is, how does it look? I'm very happy with it and damn that olive oil made it smell good!

On a side note, anyone know anything good to have with fried eggs thats not found in an English breakfast.
Wow... erm nice one I guess.

It looks like a scrambled omelette or something
Then the yoke would be all runny and snotty, I don't want to die :(
It does depend on what type of fried egg you want, but the yolk is supposed to be runny/can be runny so when it's on some toast it explodes all over it and tastes soooo good :p

That egg looks deformed to be honest. You need to maintain stability of the runny yolk. Too much over cooking will see it go hard and yellow.

One of them (to the right) looks ok. The left I would just cut around and bin it. No yolk = failed egg.

That's a pretty poor attempt but as it was your first (at 19!!) I'll let you off. Try harder next time.

I've fried more eggs than I care to think about as my first job out of college was a griddle chef in a Little Chef. what a god aful job that was...! English Breakfasts are, along with a damn good Sunday roast, somewhat of a speciality of mine now though. It's all about the timing.

Well I went away after my last post and tried it again, 3rd time lucky I never broke the eggs, bubbled again I guess oil was too hot? I was only on number 2 this time but I never got it all burnt at the bottom, but tbh thats how I like it, egg white that is well done.

I can do scrambled eggs, I love them with loads of butter, I have scrambled eggs with pasta.

I think I used too much oil.

those look much better :)

edit*

scrambled eggs with pasta?

scrambled eggs with pasta!?

For a first attempt though It's actually quite good I remember my 1st attempt it was a fried egg then a scrambled egg then a big burned mess (well I was 5 at the time)

edit : Nothing wrong with scrambled eggs pasta and a nice bacon and cheeze sauce

The trick is to splash some hot oil over the yolks to cook them a little.

Those still look pretty disgusting.

Yea, but the yoke was not cooking fast enough so I tried to flip em, flipped one and it cooked nicely but I broke it when I tried to turn it over again not that I needed to :p, yoke was sort of hardish, tasted ok, but am learning.

Bacon, hmmm I've never cooked meat before, but wary of that as its meat, I might have a try later, have 4 eggs today thats enough for one day!

Looks like the fat was too hot tbh

It was, yet I was only on number 2 out of 6 on the hob and I let it slowly cook this time, maybe less oil would have done better.

Also while they look a bit better they still look pretty disguisting.
Less oil not so hot why have you got it turnt up so high let it cook slowly not in a flash

Number 2 out of 6 it was.
