£100m, what would you do with it?

Me? I'd probably find a nice plot of land in swindon, build a nice big house on the plot, build a private pub in the back garden that I can smoke in and have big mash ups. Get a flat in town like i've been meaning to do for ages. Get a house in bournemouth and one in barbados maybe.
Then buy a load of cars, lambos, ferraris, maybe a race track.

Maybe start up some form of business to give me something to do. Bars in town, pubs etc. Buy them all out I reckon, be swindons landlord.

That's day number one :D I would just live it up.

Centurion card and a wad of crisp £50's would also be on the cards. I could live off the interest.

I would keep all the 100m in the bank at 4.8%. That then leaves me with 4.8million a year to live off.

2.8million will be split between my close family and friends.

1million will be used for high risk , high yield investments or buying small company's.

The other 1 million a year i would live off. Which will buy me houses and apartments around the world. I would then visit every site in the world which is worth seeing.

Dont know

I suppose I'll get all my debts paid off and then somehow find a way to anonymously pay off all debts and outstandings for my close family and my wifes close family.

Definitely give some to charity, but which one I dont know.

Holiday for a few months. A few more weeks in Tongsai Bay would be nice.

Buy a nicely sized house in UK and let my wife do it up the way she wants - cosy. Buy a ranch in Canada somewhere and let my wife do that up as well :D

Have 4 kids, get a kitten and then shortly after get a staffie puppy and a labrador puppy.

The rest would just fall into place as time goes by. Simple guy with simple needs, not really into the finer finer things in life although I would fly 1st class everywhere :)

I'd first buy a nice house (around £1 million mark I guess) , then use a few million to start my own business and move up from there - try and make that £100 million into more :D

I wouldn't stop working straight away - once you have that sort of money is when the fun begins with making money :)

£100million isnt that much.

You would get a couple of jets, some property, some cars etc and only have a few million left.

or you could go visit some countries where even 10 quid was a lot and help a million or so ppl.....and still come back with a million or two

Are you on methylphenidate for ADHD? The interest alone from the 100 million is about a £100,000 before tax a week.

One million pounds is a fair amount of money never mind a hundred times that.

Sometimes posts on these forums amaze me. :(

I really wouldn't know where to start, I doubt I'd ever even get close to spending what I would acquire on interest.

I would probably have a few homes around the country/world. Jersey, North Wales, Scotland, Vancouver etc.
I would definitely give loads to my immediate family, pay off everyone's debts, make sure they all have sound financial advice from a trusted accountant etc.

I'd give millions to the RNLI and several other charities. The rest, god knows, Observatory somewhere with a top quality telescope, world cruise in complete luxury with my close family.

Cycling holiday around Ireland and France with my dad, you could literally do anything!

Anyone know how much leased lines cost? :p

...and also you'd never BUY a jet. That's just a waste. It costs a fortune to keep them maintained and staffed you'd just rent one for the time you need it.

Want to fly to New York on a private jet? No problem, 20k each way. Sorted.

Same with boats, i'd hire a huge one for the week for 50k or so. I'd never own one.

THe company I work for owns a couple of private jets that just service Europe, i've been on them three times to go over to Cork and back. Really is the best way to travel. No customs, no passports checks, no queues. If you're late they will wait, if you're early they will try and fly out earlier. You live near Farnborough? Fine, we'll fly out of Farnborough!

Just went on a site then, £50k one way from Manchester Internation to La Guardia (New York) on a Cessna Citation X :p

Put it in a high interest account and then use my new 'wage' to travel the world for a few years. Then have a go at the stock market.

Obviously treat the family well, but I wouldn't allow anyone but my immediate family to know.
