2008 Singapore GP - Race 15/18

I would imagine that fencing that low would be in a lower speed area, as as it is under the stand I very much doubt any spectators will be there milling about behind the fence!

Looking forward to seeing this.

The first night MotoGP in Qatar earlier this season looked amazing in the artificial lighting - like a video game

There won't be spectators there, but there will be marshalls, and marshalls and flying wheels dont mix.

Well, i am sure the FIA are aware of the risks and have takn adequate measures. Neither of us (well, me certainly) are qualified to question type of fencing used, it looks to be pretty heavy duty, and I expect more than capable of deflecting a wheel from a low speed collision :)

Well it rained last night there,

If the track cant clear the water, if it rains its going to be an SC race.

Just read this over on James Allen's 'Ask The Team' on the ITV-f1 website. Made me laugh, even though I quite like the guy:

...There is always a tendency amongst the media, the public and even to a large extent the F1 teams themselves, to anoint the new superhero.

It’s always a good idea to wait and see how a driver develops, what kind of results he builds up.

Autosport said:
"It is not the best solution that they could find," said Alonso. "We worry that if you miss the chicane or miss the line then you have to go over the kerbs - and then perhaps you damage the chassis or damage the bottom.
And there-in lies (one of) the problems with F1 today - everything is too molly-coddled and easy for the drivers.

The tethers are there to try and help stop the wheels/hubs separating from the cars in the event of most accidents but they are by no means indestructible or 100% reliable.

they are quite reliable really would take a massive accident to cause them to fail not very likely at that part of the track

sure is too easy thats why lewis looks good :p

You know what, buttercup? You just have to stop talking. You're giving the rest of us so-called Anti-Messiah™ posters a bad name with the crap you come out with at times.

Any halfway sensible viewer of F1 who happens not to support Lewis would at least admit that the kid is pretty ******* good. He's not Senna. He's not Schumacher. He's Lewis Hamilton, and he has the potential to set records that no bugger will ever match if he sticks at the game long enough.

Now, potential. There's a word that gets horribly misused. Most of the British media seem to think that because he has potential, he's already won ten championships. This is where my irritation with those hooting dicks on TV and in the papers (and yes, on more than one internet forum) comes in, and this has led to me being accused of all manner of bizarre things. Memphis, Wicksta and sunama (sorry guys, you were the three I could remember after 'several' pints of bitter) have all taken shots at me for it - Memphis apologised and I apologised back, Wicksta seems to be generally staying out of my way and I out of his way, and sunama....well, we're still civil even when we're on opposite sides of the debate. That has to count for something.

I can't quite fathom you out, though. On odd occasions you make a reasonable amount of sense. Rather more often, you post stuff that makes me wonder how you remember to breathe in after exhaling. It's very confusing.
