Are there any major differences? Anyone used the third party ones?

I'd just go official, seems to be the way with 360 leads.

That was my gut feeling, but then a scart is a scart. Does anyone have any experience with the other cables? Are they ok?

RGB scart is much better than just scart, and also a lot better than the scart-composite thing...

With it being analogue I would always go for official. I had one with my 32" CRT was more than happy for an SD TV.
