I get the more people, but how does the number of people affect the odds of winning?

I don't know how the Euromillions works, but if it's anything like the National Lottery, the odds of winning are 1/49 * 1/48 * 1/47 etc. The odds don't change because more people buy tickets, merely the prize money.

Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

That said, I didn't buy a ticket anyway, and would have picked 1,2,3,4,5,6 as my numbers if I had, so saved a quid there...

You would've been one of those annoying people in the shop that played it for the first time and didn't read the slip and just crossed 6 numbers then.


The chances of winning the full jackpot to your self are less if more people play.

Hopefully you're not taking the mick as that middle line nets you 5 numbers + 1 star which is the 2nd highest prize level.

Last week the jackpot was £11.84 million and 5+1 got ~£250k each so with this week's jackpot of £102.80 million, wahey! :)

Looks like Champagne time! You just have to hope no one won the jackpot and then it would filter down to your prize level.
