Is there a maximum screen res I can get?

I was looking at the various LG ones - they seem the best bet, has anyone else got any recommendations?

Which model of Apple Mac will be plugged into the monitor?

I know that the Macbook can support up to 1920x1200

Yes, its the standard macbook, not the ultra thin one, nor the powerbook.

That sounds great - can anyone offer me any words of wisdom on which actual screen to get?

Depends completely on what you are after. Cheap? Decent viewing angles? 8-bit panel?

I want size.

I don't use games but do watch movies, so decent viewing angles might be useful.

I am looking to spend about 150?

Then I'm afraid decent viewing angles will not be possible, you're looking at a 22" maximum screen size and one with a TN panel with that kind of budget.

Have a gander at the 22" Sammy's on OcUK.

i have the older version of this http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-058-LG very good panel, viewing angles look perfect from any position altho looking from below makes it slightly darker

Viewing angles arent too important; at the end of the day its primary use will be a single person using the computer, rather than a screen for general viewing.

To me, the main toss up is between the various LG's and Samsung; LG seem to offer great value. Right now, for 130-150 you can get 22 inch widescreen...?

They're all just variations on a theme. At the end of the day only 2 or 3 people make the actual TN panels these things use so each one is much of a muchness.
