But I think I just had an idea concerning human potential.

Your limits are defined by your level of curiousity.

Explain.

You haven't provided any thought behind it, and it's a pretty bland statement.

But curiosity killed the cat so the limits were obviously met before the level of curiosity... no?

Talk about a non-statement. It isn't bold, it is absolute tish on so many levels. Stop flattering yourself; this is not philosophical.

Ok...

A person with limited intellect can only take self-study so far. There is a certian cut off point which is self-determined, and that is by curiousity - ie uninterested in mathematics? A mathematical slant on a problem will be boring to you rather than driving you to learn all of the maths required to do it...

And so forth. We each have a limit on how much curiosity we have about the world around us, so therefore limiting our own potential.

Its one thing to define your limits and another thing to act upon your limits

I would alter that to read
'Imagination defines your potential but your emotions define your boundaries'

Boredom suggests apathy and disinterest whereas fear suggests a heightened and very real interest in what is happening but with a different motive, e.g. one of escape rather than further investigation.

Pish and tish.

I'm extremely curious about flying without any aided support (i.e. technological advancement), although when I jump in the air it doesn't happen. I'm EXTREMELY curious and motivated about unaided human flight.

Are you saying that i'm not curious enough? Do I need to jump off of a building to test my curiousity. It's purely this thats stopping my potential for unaided flight?

Curiosity is a catalyst for advancement, or our "potential" how you put it.

Hmmm interesting that people see fear, rather than boredom, as the antithesis to curiosity...

It's not only fear that has a bearing on our limits all our emotions, intellect and senses have a part to play in defining our limits. For example where fear stops you from doing somthing Hope can push you to do it.
