Yeah, that's what I meant. What about updating sound drivers? I can't look into it any further at work, they block too much of our internet traffic.... including games forums !!!
 
yup all up to date, first thing I checked last night. I'm using onboard sound - sigmatel hd as I'm on a laptop, not sure if that makes a difference.
 
Stopped playing my game when the new enhanced details were revieled as even in it's previous form it sucked me right in can't wait to finish off my watercooled build to get playing it again.
 
^ i think that might refer to the auto loot system, where you hold down alt, or ctrl or shift or something (sry bad memory, havent played in a few days) and click on a container and it puts everything in that container into your inventory

Wow. I played the entire game through without knowing this (auto-loot). I've just reached act 1 the secnd time through, this will be useful to know!! :D

The object names is very useful, especially for finding a particular monster. Holding alt is useful for this so that you can quickly switch it on or off. I don't like having it on all the time.

Any other useful tid-bits I might have missed?

Really enjoying this game! Still only on chapter one but loving it at the moment.

Only negative thing I can say about it is at normal HDTV resolution the journal text is a bit hard to read.
 
Great game; just finished playing it all the way through, finished with the Neutral/Witcher ending. Have to say the story was very good, look forward to a second if they do one.
 
how do you defeat the dogs in chapter one, i have no spectre oil do you have to have it to get passed them, i have tried like 20 times now and die whether abigail or the towns folk are with me.

On normal difficulty, I could not make it with Abs. With townsfolk, I took out 2 normal dogs, with blizzard and swallow active, and then just hacked away at the beast. Took me 2 tries to get right.

I was a pretty high level, as much as I could do, every side quest done and stuff. No wasted talents in stupid stuff like booze tolerance and the like.
 
Take the beast out first, the others will disappear. Heavy style, knockback with spells as much as possible, and potions until you glow :D

Easiest way is to Aard it immediately, if you time it right he's dead in one swing after that ;)

After that its just a case of polishing of the rest!!
 
Well, game runs anywhere from 30-100fps at 1920x1200 maxxed on my 4870, so should be pretty reasonable with a later 8800 series card at 1680x1050. Ran reasonably well back when I had an 8800GTS 512 as well.
