Grid - Race Driver. Any Good?

I got sent this game with along with my Gainward 4870 Card today. I am thinking of installing it, but just wanted to see if its worth it, or just use it as a coaster?

it's excellent.. Much better on pc than on console. Probably one of the best titles out there to show off your new 4870 !

Depends what sort of thing you like.
If you like "the fast and the furious"....ie lots of fast cars with no bearing on reality....you'll love it.
If you watch entire Grands Prix on the onboard channel, and like a real meaty driving sim, microwave the disc now.

It's awesome. I find myself watching the replays in slow motion more than anything

Play it with a 360 pad, and enjoy.

I am into the NFS games, except Pro Street. So hopefully I will give it a go.

I play a decent amount of sims and I do still like a bit of Grid, even though the physics are from bizzaro world.

It's pick up and play fun.

Same, although so do most of my Vista games :mad:

However, when it DOES work, it's easily the best racing game I've ever played, however it's a no-go without a pad tbh

Echo the don't bother without a pad comments.. Useless on a keyboard, you really need variable controls, not just on off on off.

A G25 for Grid? I hope you play more realistic games too, because a G25 for Grid is overkill and unnecessary.

Good man, I can vouch for rFactor if you don't mind modding it a bit. GTR2 is great too, not got hold of Evo yet though.

I find it far too cartoony (for the few seconds until it crashes), I like Forza 2 much better.

Just gave it a quick bash, its ok not bad. The only issue for me is the sound. its fine in the garage and menu's, but when the race starts its goes really quiet???

take it of 5.1 then, i had that problem, if you dont use proper 5.1 speakers/headset it goes al funky, use 2.0 and its fine
