new to overclocking

For 3ghz the voltage looks to high. e.g. Speedstep is lowing your multiplier to x6, it also lowers the voltage. Now, if 1.36 is the voltage AFTER lowing, I'm going to hazard a guess that you have your voltage set too high in BIOS.

what that look like ?anything i need to change

CPU voltage is dependant on the CPU.. as I said in one of the previous posts download and run coretemp.. this will show you the VID of the CPU.. this is its default voltage.. set the CPU Vcore (Volts) to this in the BIOS.. 90% of Q6600 will do 3ghz @ VID voltage.. if it isnt stable you may have to up the voltage by a little say for example you VID is 1.300v you may need to up the vcore to 1.325v

Ninja Edit:

Also do not worry about asking questions we were all new to this at some point or other... I would suggest though if you have a question then use the search tool.. a lot of people have probably given relavent advice to others :)

A vid is actually pictured in his last post. I say A vid as it's most definitely wrong. Also looks like the op has speedstep running.

right gone to 2.7 ghz first

Don't know if its just me, but for 1066 RAM, 6-6-6-23 seems a bit slow, unless you're running them below stock till your CPU is stable.

yeah moomoo it blue screened me so put them back to stock settings an is stable at the min an how much should i go up on the vcore in the bios ,cheers

For vcore try to stay below 1.5v though that's for extreme clocks to be honest, are you still trying 2.7 or are you trying higher now?

i am going to try for 3.0 ghz just wanted to know if this looking ok an what i am doing now looks right ,anything you would change for to get there ie ram or anthing else i may have missed
