care to expand? as so far i think your the only person on the planet to say this
Don't get me wrong they have improved on a lot of the things wrong in '08, but they've also taken some perfectly fine things and decided to have a fiddle, consequently making them worse than '08.
Things like corner camera angle, uber late whistles for both fouls and offsides, player run animations, player pace range, shooting could be a contender also. All these things were fine in '08 and shouldn't have been messed with.
Only taken me 5 minutes game time to find all these too, I'm sure there will be more.
have to say, i disagree with every point except the corner taking. The late whistles are checking to see if an advantage has been played, the animations as far as i can say are above and beyond what 08 were, and shooting is SO much improved, including many more different styles of shot.
Nothing wrong with the advantage system in '08. You should only get advantage on certain types of fouls, not all.
If you can honestly tell me the player run animation is better than 08 then you need your head checking, it's looks nothing like real life and is totally ridiculous.
I'm still unsure on the shooting. I could shoot perfectly fine in '08 so for me there was no need to make it super floaty.
Found another unnecessary change, the camera pan on taking freekicks, why on earth have them implemented that. Absolutely pointless and annoying.
Loads of people didn't like '08 because the learning curve was too steep, this is a **** load easier so I expect people will be raving.

People fear change.
I'm open to change, but not backwards. My beef is that they've changed things that didn't need changing. OK, it would be fine if the change was for the better but they've made things worse!

Definitely a move forward IMO. FIFA 09 is pretty much my ideal football game at the moment. I thought FIFA 08 was getting there but I found the shooting annoying, the responsiveness annoying and a few other niggles. FIFA 09 is much improved IMO.

So you think the new corner angle, freekick curl, whistle timing, freekick camera have all changed for the better?
Just so people don't get confused here, I love a lot about this game, the passing, heading, crossing ect is all exceptional, it's just that I can't fathom out why they have made these changes.
I get the feeling here people are just loving what's new.

But after giving it time, playing it, I got used to it, and found that, the ball will only curl like that, if you ask it do.
Corners, far better IMO, better angle.
Whistle timing, is spot on, sometimes it is delayed due to advantage being played, or better yet, sometimes you will notice the refs whistle will go only when the linesman signals. or vice versa.

I agree, whilst 09 is looking like a great game, some things / desisions are just like WTF are they in there for, I am constantly annoyed by the slow whistle blowing

Anytime anything changes, people dont like it, hense the phrase, people fear change.
I cant comment as i havent played the game.
The curl on the freekicks is still way overdone and can sometimes look so unrealistic I **** myself with laughter. Not a massive problem, but come on! What were they thinking!
Disagree about the corner angle, it's wrong and unnatural.
Whistle timing is horrendous. Think back to 08, advantage would be decided instantly, it either is or it isn't, there is absolutely no need for the late whistle when you consider how perfect '08 had it.

The only thing i didnt like in the change, was the running animations (i said before they run like they have a pole up their arse)
And yes the corner taking camera is a little strange, but ive gotten used to it now from the demo.
Other than that its a VAST improvement on 08, the game speed now is far better, you dont have to wait 10 hours on a player trying to turn on the ball!
