Wow this is a great mobo! I've been priming away at 4.4Ghz (440x10) on 1.32v hitting a max of 69c for an hour or so now without issue (early days yet I know) but I'm noticing that the VRM heatsink and the NB are getting very hot to the touch. Most of my settings are on Auto except for RAM volts, CPU volts and FSB strap. CPU PLL is set at 1.5v. I think the chipset volts is set at +0.300v or so. Has anyone else got this board running with a similar overclock? If so whats the temperature of your heatsinks to the touch?

I'm not overly worried but it would be nice to know of others experiences.

I must say I love this board as its undoubtedly the easiest board I've worked with and that includes my old P5K Premium, P5K-E and S2E which were all extremely fussy about which RAM you put in them and/or had cold boot issues.

NB. should have mentioned that I'm currently running on air with an OCZ Vendetta 2.

Yeah it's a great board!, i've only changed the cpu voltage to 1.42 and fsb to 426 for 4.24ghz stable and also mem voltage.. not tried for any high fsb yet.

I have the TP45 and it’s a cracker! :D What I love the most is the windows tools Biostar have made for these new boards; the overclocking software is very impressive! By far the easiest motherboard I have used to date.

Wuss. :p Get in the bios and get your hands dirty.

I believe that this is the best value for money board available at the moment. It get's amazing reviews all the time and holds loads of records. Very good for a board costing less than £100. OCUK said they were looking at getting some Biostar boards but no sign of them yet. :(

I'm no wuss! :D :p

Yep it’s a cracking board and like you say it’s getting some impressive reviews and people getting 720FSB with this  I have being an Asus fan but I choose the Biostar on a hunch and its proved to be the right one, this has to the be best sub £100 motherboard I reckon but it doesn’t seem to get any mention on here :(

how do you apply the changes when overclocking using the software?, seems to crash for me when using it.
What I do is once I have changed any settings click test, this then puts the system through a quick stress test then once passed it uses those settings. If you want to save them click save and it should run this profile when you start into windows, what it does for me is allows me to test the max overclock so I know what the limit is rather then booting up and selecting marginal increases in the bios and redoing this etc, saves a lot of time and messing IMO.

Although i'm prime stable at the minute, as soon as i hit the test button on the tpower software the pc instantly locks up.. will try reinstalling.

Ah works perfect for me, maybe a reinstall is needed like you say let us know :D

Although it seems to read my CPU wrong in the CPU Speed slider by 300MHz it says 2700MHz when I have my CPU clocked in the bios at 3GHz doesn’t matter though, the VCORE and other voltages are spot on and work like a dream :) Really easy to use once it works :p

/Edit.... Ah it still doesn’t work? :( Are you running XP or Vista? I’m on Vista 64.

Yeah, awesome mobo :D Mike our setups are almost identical, right down to the CPU cooler  It'd be interesting to see what settings everyone's using in the BIOS, I'll dig mine out too.

Fothsn, what magic is that?? It doesn't look like the TPower utility I have. Talking of which, khemist, it crashes for me exactly the same way it does for you. The moment I hit apply (even on a 1MHz overclock lmao) it crashes and reboots

The BIOS rocks though, so meh.

That linky is to a photo of a zip file icon ;) I'm using the TPower 2 utility, as bundled on the mobo driver CD and listed on the mobo's driver page @ Biostar. Where'd you find that? I'm guessing it's either (1) for a different Biostar board, but still works with the I45, or (2) it's so new they didn't update their downloads section with it yet?

EDIT - just checked the Biostar site, and it's listed as the app for their AMD boards. Nice to see it works on the Intel boards as well though; I might grab it and see if it's any better than the TPower 2 utility.

Sorry I have re-edited my link :D Give the one for my motherboard a try it may work :)

It starts and loads OK for me (did you reboot after the install Khemist?)... but it doesn't show the figures for the volts and clocks. It does pick up the correct model and actual core speed though.

It says version 0.9.0.4 mine is 0.9.0.8 could be because you have an older version?

I got mine of my CD, I can upload it if you want to try this?
