Hi

I'm currently running an old athlon 64 3500+ with 1 gig DDR 400 dual channel and a nvidia geforce 6800gs graphics card on an asus A8N-sli premium motherboard. Its done me well for almost three years and is more than enough to run all my computing needs, can still play most games on lower setting ect

However Iv just got the opportunity to buy an AM2 athlon x2 6000+ on an ASrock aliveNF4G-DVI motherboard and 2 gigs DDR2 800 dual channel. All second hand as my mate has just upgraded to a quad core system.

Now although this is old now it will still be a massive upgrade compared to my system. The motherboard doesn't have as many features as mine but its still AM2.

He's not told me how much he is wanting for this, so what sort of money should I offer him for the above motherboard+ram+processor ?

Also I still run XP, do you think it would be worth making the jump to vista 64bit with the above spec?

well seen as you can buy it new for £180

I would offer him a flat £100

stick with xp 32bit tbh

How old is it?
How well does he treat things?
If it died next week would he refund you if its outside of warrenty?
Consider these things.

I dont think it would even be as much as £180 new would it?

CPU is 6 months never overclocked, motherboard about 2 years

Dont know how he treats things, doubt he would refund me I wouldn't, buy as seen.

Came out about 160 for me but no matter.

LOL so if you sold somebody a working rig and two weeks later they had blew it up, you would just give them their money back?
