Using the Unreal engine it appears to have some excellent graphics.

Importantly it looks like they have reversed their initial decision to not have any Full PvP servers at release so that is a bonus. Although the regular servers will have PvP areas where players will need to enter in order to do certain things in game.

One thing I can't seem to find any details on is how much (if at all) it uses zones and instances.

Still an exciting looking game!

Heard about this MMO but not much!

I know that you can really customize a lot your character other than that not sure.
The graphics looks nice think I'm going to stick with WAR tho.
I wonder how this MMO will do considering they are releasing a couple months after WAR and at the same time than WOTLK

Sounds like another Age of Conan.

Will be sticking with World of Warcraft, still the only good one out there... :o

I don't really care about it having fab graphics, it can have all the graphics it wants (LOTRO looks great) but it still fails in comparison to Warcraft!

Yeah, this one has always looked kind of interesting, especially the setting, and the visual style is cool. Don't think it stands much of a chance with War and the lotro expansion coming out, but if it doesn't get horrible reviews I'll probably find the time to give it a shot inbetween war / lotro/ TR and the dozen or so single player games I've got lined up :)

You forgot the big daddy that's also out next month; Wrath of the Lich King.

Mines of Moria first expansion for LOTR is out early November, looking very nice indeed. :) I've followed Spellborn, its got some novel idea's but is seriously lacking enough advertising and media coverage, which is a bit odd really.

Obviously LOTR will never topple WOW for sub numbers, but I've found the LOTR community far more mature and by far the most relaxed group of players of any MMO I've experienced, probably due in a large way to the player base being made up of a lot of older gamers.

It's rather nice to log into LOTR and never fear the onset of kiddies ranting garbage in general chat or having there little gank games or threatening to burn the house down because someone shock horror has an opinion that differs from theirs on the forums as WOW is prone too.

I think the only MMO I'm vaguely interested in outside of WoW is the new Stargate MMO. It will have to be something pretty special to tear me away from my Rogue though....

They are not hyping it up (like AOC for example). Just quietly getting on with the job for making a game, lets hope it is a good one. Here is a hands on review from Leipzig this year:

What is interesting is that they will be allowing a free trial for everyone, kinda like a noobie island where you have to pay if you want to go into the rest of the game.

PVP is the main reason I play MMO's, I hate people who whinge about being attacked etc, and so no.. I wouldn't say its a bonus as I doubt I'm the only one who plays MMO's for this reason..

Err I dont know if I wrote it wrongly or you misread, basically they are saying they are doing full PvP servers from day 1. As I will not touch a MMO if it doesn't support PvP.

Yes, Spellborn will be released with 2 different ruleset types of servers: there will be PvP servers and PvE Servers. It is true we were not planning to release such rulesets at first, but our intentions have always been to make PvP an integral part of the game. In the end we found this was the best solution for us.

Looks interesting. Not heard much about this, but i've got WHOnline coming through the post today so I might be a bit distracted haha!

You never know though this quiet one might be a winner. Is that true about the free trial?

Ok, maybe my bad :p but yeah I agree with you. PVP is the main thing that draws me into the old MMO addition.

Was interested until they announced it be released a few weeks after WotLK and required a sub. Don't think I'll bother now and I doubt many people will.

So is this one actually going to be oustanding, or just another unoriginal fantasy mmorpg with some 'unique' feature as its main selling point? The combat system could be interesting, but is it enough to set it apart from the crowd?

It didn't seem to be any different to WAR/WolTK. However, my understanding was it was going to be F2P and better then your average F2P MMO. Plus being out before WAR/WolTK meant it might provide some fun while you waited.

But now it not F2P and out around the same time as other better mmo.

F2P MMO's are never worth investing your time in. For many reasons but the main one for me is since you don't pay you never know if the servers are still going to be online from one day to the next.

That's not ture. Loads of F2Ps games that been around for years.

Most F2P mmos just arent any good and the best are only fun for 50 hours or so.

I am the complete opposite. I would love a game that had no PvP what so ever as it is the only way you would get truly unique specialized classes. The chances of this happening anymore are slim.
