Somewhat bizarrely, this guy reckons veiled women being able to see out of both eyes at once makes them dirty ***** so wants one eye covered up (just as well women aren't allowed to drive in Saudi).

So atm they look like ninja's, but in the future they're going to look like ninja pirates. Methinks Sheikh Habadan has been spending too much time on the internet.
 
They can still wink at you seductively with one eye showing the cheeky minxes so he might as well call for them to wear full hoods, hopefully that'll stop him getting the horn over them, numpty.
 
Why is this awful abuse of womens personal freedom accepted and tolerated? Why is it acceptable these women are brainwashed into thinking that wearing such a veil is a good thing?

I know it's a disgrace, I can't stand when some peoples answer to it is just "OMGZ it's leik there culture", as if that makes it ok.

Well the Brits installed the House of Saud as rulers of Arabia back in WW1 ("Lawrence of Arabia" comes in here) and its been that way pretty much since then. Not that the Ottomans were great or anything...
 
This is stupid and totally against the Koran - which he should well know - it clearly says that woman should still be recognizable (not merely as 'a woman' but as the actual person they are (ie 'wendy' or whoever)) - how are you supposed to recognise a woman dressed like that? Culture is all well and good, but this guy purports to be a cleric and thus should know better.

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't it say "covered from neck to ankle" or something like that as far as female modesty goes?

It doesn't seem too vague to me. It clearly says:
  • Women should guard their modesty
  • but can show what must ordinarily appear
  • making sure that they should be recognized and not harassed

To me saying that your left eye (for example) is something that makes you immodest, is something that shouldn't be ordinarily be shown and is unnecessary in allowing you to be recognised (or would lead to you being harassed) is crazy - although I guess yes that's just my interpretation :D

They think the same about you. As do a lot of other places. Now i'm wondering what has given you the divine right to decide what's acceptable ;)
