Has anyone else just received 5 games in their Steam list?
I think they are free anyway, but they've been added to my list without me doing it.

Have just noticed these, my understanding of mod is an amendment/enhancement to an already installed game. I'm guessing that mod in this case is an abbreviation for something, can somebody tell me what this is and whether these are worth installing?

they are modifications of a retail game. Eg developers modified half life to create counter strike.

Not sure if they are worth dowloading, no harm in checking them out though

I've downloaded DIPRIP and Age of Chivalry. DIPRIP actually looks quite cool from the video on the site. Sadly Age of Chivalry looks a bit pap, but I'll give it a quick go anyhow.

Yup, just installed 'em all.

We should take a bash at DIPRIP and Zombie Panic at the next Lan.. see if it's a decent alternative to Killing Floor :)

Synergy is the best of the five, it's the coop mod for Half Life 2. You can do coop through each HL2 game, plus some of Synergy's own maps designed specifically for a group of players to go through together.

Diprip looks fun and synergy sounds fun.

In addition, hl2ep1 is 5 dollars for the weekend, so buy it if you haven't got it yet !

I'm downloading Insurgency and Zombie Panic...but it's veeerrryyy slow, so looks like I'm gonna be working on my essay a bit longer :(
