Didn't even know this is possible tbh?? 60GB is the brand new model and was not even around when non HDMI models were being made?

you got this from the supermarket special offer? Or by cheap do you mean 2nd hand/auctions? In which case someone has probably sold you an old arcade/pro with new HDD attached.

Errr, the only thing i can think of is an older unit with a 60gb harddrive put on it but surely if it's brand new at retail they wouldn't have done this.

if bought from a store then it should have it.
unless he bought it off someone else then they stick a 60GB HDD onto a old console.

@rp2000, yes its was from the supermarket offer...told my Bro about it last night at his knew he had been thnking about it)...was interested, rang them up this morning, and they told him they had about 3 left...

...so he rushed down and was chuffed he got one, out of curiousity I asked him on the phone about the HDMI...he told me it didnt have one...have just asked him what the power output on the side of the box and its saying 220...

sommin aint right...ive asked him to ring them and ask a few questions.

I've got a theory (it could be bunnies? ignore this, bad joke)

My theory is, someone bought it, swapped the hard drives over on their old unit and then returned it to the store. That way they got a brand new unit and your bro has been screwed with an old unit.

Could be a bit far fetched however.

I would have thought that would refer to 220-240V, not power usage of the Xbox itself. Old ones were 203W, new ones are 175W. It says on the box itself if it should have HDMI doesn't it?

Edit - does that date on the 360 say 2006? If so then it's an old model which I'd take back. Very odd if it's been sold as a new 60GB.

Sounds about right to me. This is pretty much the only way it could've happened. All 60gbs should have hdmi regardless.

What does that manufacture date say? Looks like 2008-10-17 but that cant be right.

freind of mine returned his faulty elite(old version) to a supermarket and got a brand new elite as replacement, he opened the box to find an old white premium inside, so anythings possible when dealing with clueless supermarkets.

Yeah, get the date. If it doesn't say made in 2008 take it back!

Looks like it says 2006...take it back and say someone has done the ol' swapperooo on it...

Im going to get him to send me the info on the side of the box and anything else and ill post it up, he must be on to them now as I cant get thru!.

I've read about this another forum - Microsoft has been putting a new motherboard in called Opal or Opus or something which doesn't have HDMI. But this is only supposed to be in repaired consoles...

Yeah, my understanding was that any console that was an early launch console sans HDMI that broke got replaced with the Opus.

But this is bought "brand new" out of the shop.

I think someone did a swaparoni and the people at the Supermarket put it out for sale instead of at the back for returns?

Either way he should just be able to take it back easily. Supermarkets never create a fuss returning stuff. When I went to my local one yesterday I saw a lady returning a huge block of cheese that she said was mouldy and she bought it 7 days ago.
