LittleBigPlanet - Play, Create and Share.

I guess I just need to play it more to adjust to the controls. Apart from the lag, its probably the most fun I've had with a game this year. Theres just something about running through a level with someone else and working together. :D

Anyone up for a game?

I'm going to compare it to the movement in the original half life, it felt incredibly floaty and strange at first but once you got used to it it worked. But beyond that you could even exploit the movement physics with all sorts of awesome mavity defying jumps. I can see LBP making use of this sometime in the future, i played a game with a mate a while ago today where there what seemed an impossible jump, however after some practice we realized if you ran at the right speed and jumped just right you would 'slide' up the edge, looked really cool when you got it right.

At the end of the day, as smalls has said, the first 5 levels are mostly tutorials so i don't think it's fair to judge the media molecule levels based on those efforts.

I reckon those who put the effort in will get a lot back from this game.
110% agree with that - and that unfortunately might be its also downfall - I think lots of people will love this because of the freedom you get, but it will be upto the online element to make this special and a must-buy.

If you just take it on its merits and whats present 'out of the box' unless you put in the time (to me thats considerable) and effort its probably not worth getting. Its just not a pick up and play games when you get into the nuts and bolts (i.e. you can play other user created content, but you really need to do your own work)

But thats sandbox games for you...

Again a time machine owner who have played the full game lol! (just a joke)
Read all the previews, watch this weeks 1up show, the single player game is as robust as any platformer and has been mentioned several to be as good as super mario brothers, and one of the best platformers for generations. As for the UGC the full game users a full rating system so the best levels will always go to the top. If you consider than this well sell say a million WW in a month and a third of the players make levels. From this only 1% of that 33% are any good and it takes a month for these top creators to make a level, that makes 3,000 levels a month  Even if this its overestimating by say 10 fold thats still 300 levels a month, not including stuff done by MM, Sony partners and the Disney stuff thats a huge amount of extra content. Even if you only like half of the UGC im pretty sure there will be plenty of great content in this game for months to come.

And who says I didnt make a fully working time machine in LBP and went forward in time where my Sackboy bought the full game?!?

I dream better than you - now lets see you reply to that :p

Your time machine was made using beta code so doesnt work correctly as its a beta time machine:D

Yep I must admit I went too far in the future where the PS4 had already been released and came back 3years ago so had a while to wait for this thread. But the experience was alpha (GD sic) :p

Thanks for the list, MonkieMann. I added it to my first post.

I tried playing LBP this morning but had too much lag. :( Its not fun playing on your own.

Has anyone played Stephen King's The Shining level? Its actually kinda creepy.

Yep, it's a known problem and will be fixed in the full game apparently.

Currently, either start the PS3 without touching the BD remote, or as you say, pull the batteries out.

I just turn the controller off....

You can't turn the BD remote off afaik. You can select the menu option to turn off, but it stays on.

I'll be on later, but I'll probably be building my level. It's a biggy, so hopefully some of you lot will play it when it's done. :)
