Piracy- it's killing PC gaming

Who wants a £2-3K white elephant.

I would LOVE A WHITE ELEPHANT !!!!! how cool would that be id rampage through the street and get it t...... oh your refering to a PC :(

aww :p

People still buy PC games though look at crysis, WoW er DOW all PC exclusives too.

imagine trying to play DOW on the xbox !!!

CSI is like 5 achievements worth 250 points. :p

I'm curious, do you consider people who rent games scum too? As renting is pretty much the same as downloading games, obviously you don't get to keep them but still.

You can get gamerpoints from copied games? Didn't know that :D Guess theres no reason why not.

the reason anybody is posting here is because they are interested in games as their hobby

do none of you feel the least bit bad for the games developers who produce the games for us to play?

Dutch law says if you own the game you can make infinite copies, not any piracy is allowed?

Downloading falls under making a home copy.

Article 16b

1. It shall not be deemed an infringement of the copyright in a literary, scientific or artistic work to reproduce it in a limited number of copies for the sole purpose of private practice, study or use of the person who makes the copies or orders the copies to be made exclusively for himself.

I was JUST about to ask this too. If it weren't for rental companies or the second hand trade i would be willing to bet 'Avatar - the last airbender' would have been one of the best selling 360 titles ever due to the easy 1000 achievement points. Everyone rented this title for a night to rinse the achievements then just took it back, every time that happened surely by some peoples mentality that is also a lost sale just like piracy?

I really don't.

I don't have the money to spare, I'm buying Wrath of the Lich King in November and Left 4 Dead, that's it. Either way the developers aren't gonna be getting a penny out of me as I wouldn't be buying their games anyway.

Edit: That said I will be buying Little Big Planet too, infact I may invest in the PC version of Fallout 3.

Since when do good games not sell ? On the PC all the time according to the people who make them
Orange box & steam games keep selling.
There are over 10k servers for cod4...
You can't play on any legal servers ( so the 10 k on the list) without a legit cd key & copy. 10K vs over 7Million console.....hhmmm wonder why the PC is so low....
It's just the rubbish games that don't sell...
There are over 7 million PCs capable of playing high end games very well yet most struggle to reach 6 figures in sales. Only a fool would try and argue that piracy is not the main reason for this as people will always try and get something for nothing historically high levels of piracy kills the format for games.

seems like there is real dutch law and the dutch law in snowdogs fantasy world

tell me snowdog - whats it like in your fantasy world? do they have rides?

I like to read the manual in my hands, that's all. I've always wondered how these games get "leaked" does that mean there is someone in the company handing out these masses of data for a price to certain people?
