Upgrading to Vista

Am thinking about upgrading XP to Vista. It's on a machine I only use for general office applications, watching the odd movie, internet browsing etc...

Ought I to go for Home Basic or Premium? What are the differences? Are there any benefits to getting the full over the upgrade version? I have a XP OEM license at the moment (Dell laptop).

Machine spec is a 2.0GHz P4, 1.5Gb, 60Gb HDD.

(or should I just go with a fresh install of XP?!)

Hi, that is a very old machine. The spec is fairly low, I would stick with XP tbh. There may be compatability issues with Vista.

I've got Vista Business on the Laptop in my sig, which is a little worse than yours, and, with a few tweaks it's running surprisingly well

I agree, not much point tbh. Just stick with XP. Vista wont give you any improvements really.
