Cossie gets chased by a pack of Scoobs

Don't want to sound like old doom and gloom, but I find that sort of scene worrying.

Why? Because there's a sort of collective adrenalin rush when a group of folks get together like that. The Impreza drivers were chasing the Escort. When that happens, then a pack mentality can lead to tragedy. Police traffic departments know exactly what can happen in a chase scenario, and the pursuit controller has always to take the potential behaviour of his own drivers into account.

So...... If I had been part of it, I would have had the same adrenalin rush. But I still find it troubling.

Made me giggle when the focus went past after all them scoob's hehehe.

The video should be played with benny hill music for added humour :p

Or just LED rear lights sending the camera screwy?

Quite possible yup. I can't remember where else I saw that but iirc I have seen it happen. Although it might have been an actual pattern in the LED's, which afaik isn't allowed here either?. Can't see why it would flicker like that though, the camera it was filmed on would have been low res, which would indicate progressive scan, which shouldn't be effected by a steady LED.

What else could the Escort driver do? Either boot it and hope for the best or pootle along suffering an endless barrage of hand gestures :)

As for how sensible it is well it amazes me how so few accidents occur when car clubs get together for meets or shows. The trip to Castle Coombe in a line of scoobs can be quite hairy. Although the only crash I've seen was a Legnum Vs a Cayenne on the junction by the pub. The legnum came off very much the worse.

Fair play to him tbh. I reckon if one of us were in the same position we would have done the same!

I've seen LED lights flicker quite a bit on Top Gear too. Something to do with the Hz of the leds and the framerate of the video.
