General Plot

Set in a redesigned rendition of Stilwater, a fictional city based heavily on the cities of Chicago and Detroit, the game picks up from where Saints Row left off, with the player waking up from a trauma-induced coma in a prison hospital, five years after the events of Saints Row, only to escape the prison island and rejoin the 3rd Street Saints, the gang the series is set around. The protagonist learns that the Saints have fallen apart, and that three new gangs have risen to power in Stilwater.

Game Features
  • Limitless Customisation - Play as fully customisable characters that are male, female or something in between. Vehicles can be visually customised as well as performance tuned. Cribs and even gangs all have an amazing degree of detailed customisation options.
  • Multiplayer - Co-op full story campaign has seamless integration, for example one player drives while the other shoots. Competitive multiplayer pushes the boundaries of immersion in a living Stillwater environment fully populated with police, innocent bystanders and rival gangs.
  • Killer Combat and Awesome Vehicles - Planes, helicopters, motorcycles, boats and cars can be piloted and used as weapons. On the ground new combat options include melee, fine aim, and human shield.
  • Freedom to Explore - More missions, activities, diversions, races, weapons, vehicles, cribs, city districts, and interiors than ever before. Over 40 story missions with additional bonus missions take place in a transformed Stilwater that is over 50% larger than before.

I have been thinking whether to get this or Fable 2, and in the end I figured this will probably give better drop-in and play entertainment.

I am hoping it will be a funnier/sillier version of GTA4 with better missions and a more playable framerate. :)
Does anyone know if the PS3 version will have custom soundtrack implementation?

Do you think you'd be able to link to the reviews themselves, rather than just the sites that have reviewed it? Thanks. :)

I'm looking forward to this. Loads to do, co-op, limitless scope for having a good time (I hope). :D

Done - except for the magazine of course :p

I'm definatly looking forward to this - I thought the first was awesome and I have a feeling this one will be even better than GTA 4 :)

Am currently considering whether or not to go Special Edition or not...
Only problem is the Special Edition is on the site I vowed never to buy games from again :p Do I break my promise or not? :D

I didn't know the was a official thread, does anyone know if the PS3 version will require an install? and how much space will it take?

My order is being picked and packed, hurrah. Will hopefully have it on Thursday :)

Then Fable 2 comes out a week or so later, and I am still really into FIFA and Tiger Woods. My god this is a troubled time, too many good games to play :p

A 9/10 from Eurogamer, sounds very good and as expected, more my cup of tea than GTA4. Looking foward to Friday :)
