three months in jail for sex on beach

lol, ask for trouble they were warned once and didn't stop which throws out their argument completely. the "we weren't having sex" argument fails. Once a copper suspects them and gives them a warning its this simple you realise what you are doing can be mistaken and you STOP DOING IT. THey didn't, they were drunk and apparently the woman got all up in the cops face, which is so acceptable in other countries isn't it.

I completely fail to see how, after arrest, presumably hours and hours later a medical exam could prove they weren't having sex. The only thing they could even remotely come close to proving is that, he didn't finish, what else could they prove.

Ok, so, I know my singular post will not make people read facts, or make them not believe the papers, but just consider that some times the papers dont have the full story.

They were not having sex on the beach. There were no arguments with the police. They WERE showing each other affection but not of a sexual nature. Yes, it's still frowned upon.

There are 6 witnesses who all confirmed there was no sex, none of whom were called to the trial. There were medical tests which confirmed it. They have the word of 1 policeman vs 8 members of the public. Of course, the officer of the law is more believeable.

It's just interesting how papers seem to jump on whichever angle of the story sells more papers.

I agree, but I couldn't possibly have known that "Cant jail you because its against your rights" actually means three years.

Sex on the beach is not all its cracked up to be. It's suprising where sand will end up making things less than confortable.

They deserved it, about to move out there actually ( Abu Dhabi) and we were told, that the laws are really quite relaxed and as long as you don't do something stupid you will be ok. For example, you won't get in much trouble if you are drink driving etc, but if you start kicking off and causing a fuss you will. If she had just accepted it and gone back to her house she probably wouldn't have been in much trouble!

You wouldnt even get three months here for stealing a car, but you should.

How do you know there was no argument, the fact that they were given a warning first, continued and the policeman came back seems to not be in question, so why didn't they just stop? Why didn't the defence call these so called 8 witness's if they would prove the case, and please, for the love of god tell me how a doctor can prove they weren't HAVING sex. THe only thing a doctor could prove is that he hadn't finished, or at least, to be crude, finished inside her. Infact, if they were having sex, they were clearly interupted so you wouldn't have expected to find the happy ending would you. So seriously, tell me how you can prove two people didn't have sex.

Neither have you, you're read one sides opinion of what happened, assuming they are telling the truth, with no proof either way. Except you say they had proof, in multiple witness, but didn't use them. Generally when you have 8 eye witness's, you call them, unless you're talking out your behind.
