FARCRY 2 --- Officially , official of official threads! ---

Here's something completely different to just vids of Farcry2

It's Ubisofts 'Farcry2 experience' where you get to see the game being played & you get to make decisions about what to do next, i.e. go on foot or take the glider & then the demo continues with your choice & so on thru various vehicle & weapon choices, definately worth a look :D

At the end it gives a sort of score of how you did

Cheers for that :)

Well, I tried it for myself today on the 360. I hate the way the games starts but once you are finally able to roam about, explore, do missions and blow stuff up... well, it really is an excellent game. The graphics seem fine and not overly cartoony (to me at least). Voice acting is by no means bad compared to various other abominations...

I'll enjoy it even more with a mouse and keyboard! Roll-on the PC version!

Oh and the flamethrower.... :D

Maybe I missed something, but when did Nvidia ever claim they supported DX10.1? I thought it was widely known that they did not.

If they have made this claim, then please link me to where.

Look up Nvidia's TWIMTBP Program :-

The Way It's Meant To Be Played (TWIMTBP) is a program that helps game developers to optimize and incorporate exclusive features in their games and applications exclusively for NVIDIA's video cards

FarCry2 is a Nvidia TWIMTBP game.:)

Thats hardly the same as stating that they support DX10.1. Also, doesn't mean that a game can't support standards, whether Nvidia can do them on their cards or not.

Will I be able to run FC2 on my system? Spec is in my signature. I want it to look equal to the 360 version if possible, maybe get it looking a bit better but I guess my graphics card will be the main downfall? The resolution I use for gaming is 1280x1024.

It is stretching it a little, as apparently the 360 version will do 2xMSAA at 1280x720p. Your best bet is to wait for the pre-release performance benchmark demo and gauge your hardware's capabilities from that. Unfortunately nobody has any idea exactly when it will arrive.

Thanks for that, great idea from Ubisoft, a little bit different to most marketing.

Somehow i think that benchmark thing pc gamer was on about has slipped through the cracks (if it ever existed at all). The game will be on sale for pc next friday..don't see much point releasing a benchmark a couple of days beforehand.

Has anyone noticed that apart from OcUK forum hardly anybody else on forums seems capable of spelling Farcry properly, lol

It's all over the net as far Cry & even Google is confused as if you type in farcry 2 it says 'do you mean Far cry 2'

Anyway I'm off to play Cry Sis till Far Cry comes out
