Just bought assassins creed and gtr evolution inc race 07. Cant believe I didnt buy ass creed sooner. Never going to complete my list if I keep buying games! Oh well got farcry 2 coming soon aswell :D
 
I'm the same can't stand piracy. Nice collection, how many games do you have. Why have you got two lost planets? Need to some shelves or couple dvd racks for mine. You're not very far from me. I used to live in norwich, eaton, where abouts do you live. Don't suppose you work for norwich union?

i would rather have a SNES, NES, mega drive, master system and gameboy with a lot of games then PC games, anyone can get PC games, burn, buy cheap, etc but i would rather have collectible console games.

I too say that.

But then again, I have a fair number of consoles and yes, I do still play them from time to time, such as

MegaDrive 2 ( Mortal Kombat Series )
SNES ( Killer instinct )
N64 ( Killer instinctGold + GoldenEye + Doom64 )
Jaguar ( Wolfenstein + AvP )
XBOX ( Nothign impreses me )
XBOX 360 ( Pretty, but crappy )
PS2 ( Nope, not on that either )
PS3 ( Again, not impressed at all )

So, the old consoles had great game play, and those listed are my favourites but I have easily over 50 games on each of the older consoles and its only the original xbox that I have games for, the 360 and the PS3 I have only a few as Im just not impressed at all by the games on them.

The kids love them of course, buty then they mostly play the original xbos too as we have so many games, so at least im thankful that my kids are not stupid enough to follow the trands all the time I suppose... not like me.

No, for me, its PC every time... I need that Keyboard / Mouse combination and I just cannot use a controler whatsoever... Plus I have no control of my left thumb so its pretty hard for me anyway.
 
On the subject of Piracy, I got to be honest here, but I have had a fair few games and other software over the years that is pirated...

However, in my defence, can I just also say that any game thats crap, has been binned and any game I like, I have kept and bought the originals for...

So, in many ways, piracy has been the reason behind why I have bought stuff.

I got hold of a copy of Dawn OF War for example, and because I got hold of a hookie of that, I have now bought not only Dawn Of War, but also Winter assault, Dark Crusade, and SoulStorm, and yes, I have already pre-bought DoW-2.
It was the same with the UT series... a mate gave me a copy of UT way back and since then, I have bought the lot, same with Doom, and Quake series... Had I not had hookie copies of those, I would never have bought the full packages.

I have to also admit, that I have never ever installed a demo of any game of software, and I cannot ever seeing myself ever doing such a thing either... I will get hold of a pirated game or app, install it, and if I like it, I will buy it and if I dont, I wont and it will be uninstalled.

I have always done this and I have a fairly massive collection of games and software, and yes it is all 100% legal, but had it not been for piracy, then I would not have a fraction of the stuff I have.
 
I didn't know there was so many expansion packs to dawn of war :O I might just have to play the game then see what happens after that :P
 
idd, my most loved games were all games I origionally pirated, And iv developed a loyalty to developers of said games.
I pirated wc3 and HL/CS once upon a time, Iv got the full catalogue of valve games on steam now, and i went out and bought wc3, and still play it to this day, and a few friends have also picked up copies of it too as a result of this. I also went out and bought starcraft and d2, and got wow at launch(although I only bought 2 subs as i do hate mmos :))
 
That's certainly dedication if you buy a companies mmo and you don't even like them!

SoulStorm ( No4) is fairly new
Dark Crusade ( No3 ) aint THAT old.
I think its about 4 or so years old ( the original ) and in order to play it in all its visual beauty, you will need a half decent card too!

Winter Assault ( No2 ) is an expansion pack to the original so is not a stand alone like the other 3

SoulStorm is DX10 but there is no difference at all between DX9 and DX10 that I have noticed.

Actually, while I remember it...

If you install these 4 games in order, as I keep doing, then you will come across a small irritation as I have...

1 Install DOW and enter your DOW serial number

2 - Install Winter Assault and add the Winter Assault Serial number, but you wil also need to add the DOW Serial if you want to play with the Space Marines and Orcs in a Multiplayer

3 - Install Dark Crusade and insert the Dark Crusade Serial number...

... but...

If you want to play with the Eldar or imperial Guard from Winter Assault then you will have to add the winter assault serial number..

...And...

If you want to Play as Space Marines or Orcs then you will have to enter the Dawn Of War Serial number too!

4 - Install SoulStorm, and add the SoulStorm Serial number

...But...

Dark Crusade, Winter Assault and DOW serials need to be added too!

WTF?

This is only if oyu are having all of them installed on your PC and to be honest, I do like going back through them all just for kicks, and in fact, me and 2 mates only 2 weeks ago did a marathon where we played through the entire campaigns of all 4 games ( Space Marines on Original and Dark Crusade but Imperial Guard on Winter and SoulStorm ) and what a laugh... Took us 2 days non stop.

so you have to type in a grand total of 7 serial numbers? I have a 3870 and going to have a 4870 by christmas. So hardware isn't a problem. :)

If you ever feel like having a multiplayer game just ask. I only have the original though. I remember when it first came out and I was in awe (I play the real tabletop game, I'm cool shush) :cool:
