PES 2009 - Game Discussion Thread

Just had a few games of PES 09 and the majority of my shots are flying over the bar. It seems to do this even when I just tap the shoot button.

Anyone else noticed this or am I just rubbish?

i'm loving it to be honest, it's like PES6 (PC version) and earlier versions but with the HD and proper widescreen makeover.....now seabass has the game back to it's normal state he can start tweaking it like he used to before.

but he better improve it because FIFA definitely trumps it in a few areas quite easily, but i still think PES still plays a more fun game of footie right now....FIFA feels too rigid to me.
 
Loving it so far no comparison for me between this and fifa but then again ive never got on with fifa
 
I love it!! Was hugely disappointed with last year's effort but this seems to be a big step in the right direction!
There are still a few niggles - like executing the perfect sliding tackle.....and the guy you tackled still recovers faster than you do to get the ball back! :confused:
Had a quick blast on-line and while it was a little sluggish compared to off-line, its a vast improvement to last year!

At the moment though I'm enjoying the "Become A Legend" mode - got signed by Willem II and just broken into the 1st team! :D

Overall its far more FUN than FIFA - which for me is the main reason we all play games!

Had a strange second season so far, started the first five games scoring two goals and then got dropped, came off the bench a few times, once being subbed back off :(
Managed to get another goal in one sub appearance, earning me man of the match and the 'super sub achievement' and am now back in the first team :D

My team is playing crap though and I think I will be leaving in the next transfer window :p
 
I joined Teeside, they ARE crap.

Ive still not scored, I am coming on in the second half, problem is i just shoot to get shots on target for my stats

Do 10 minutes, gives you a much better chance to do stuff in game. Just so much as making 1 complete pass makes a difference to how much your stats increase after the game.

My team improved a lot towards the end of last season, managed to go from 17th to 12th in the last quarter of the season and get to a cup final (lost to Liverpool)
 
I scored!!!

Against Spurs too, came on at half time and scored with my first shot in 48th min

Edit MOTM too :D

Does anyone know what the hell Scout players are?????

Also, can you play online AGAINST people? or even in a competition in Legends mode?
It seems you can only play on the same team in one off matches. Seems a bit of an oversighte to me
 
I've always been a staunch fan of PES until last years effort which turned me to the FIFA franchise of which I've really enjoyed 08, UEFA 08 & FIFA 09.

Is this year's effort honestly any good? As much as I like FIFA I've always been more into PES and was hugely disappointed with last year's dismal release and I'm kinda tempted by this years. How does it compare to PES 6 for instance? Is the gameplay still as good?
