Spec me a GPU Stress test

I want to rag the hell out of the GPU just to check its stability as ever since ATI tool started telling me my card was artifacting at stock levels i have become a little worried i have a faulty card.

The stability test doesnt work for me! the benchmark will run but not the stability test?

Another vote for Furmark.

Run either. Both will push the card to it's limits.

The stress test in furmark, is there a readout or soemething? Or does it just crash if it fails?

The reason being I ran it all last night and in the morning it was just as I left it - never got any hotter or got higher or lower frame rates - just a 30,000 second record.

Pretty much. If it survives it for 1 hour you can pretty much say its working fine and stable.

I only installed it last night but if I run the benchmark I get a nice big furry ring on my screen which rotates for a minute then I get some results.

For the stress test the ring goes round until you press escape.

Just run it in a window at 640x480 and set the AA to 8X. Thats all I do.

You will get a furry ring spinning. If it survives without crashing, artifacting and overheating after 1 hour it will be pretty solid.

I get the 'big fury ring' when i want the benchmark, but i cant change res or AA otherwise it wont run, and the stress test i get absolutly nothing!

I had a similar issue with Aquamark and had to shut down Fraps to get the disply - dont know if this helps ?
