Anyway Back on topic, Do people really think that this is a publicity stunt? Why would you waste around $100 million worth disks to make this into a publicity stunt. I read it was approx 3 million disks had to be replaced, the old ones are of no use to anyone and will be destroyed. So this "stunt" will need to sell 3 million more just to break even. Next they'll be telling me the FBI blew up the twin towers

Nah it's not a publicity stunt, but I bet Sony are jumping on the opportunity to milk it though and I can't blame them.

It just depends on an individual's ideals.

If somebody came on here and started telling you that he keeps seeing aliens then everyone would sound off. But everyone respects the guy for deleting all his music becuase a book told him too and believing in the afterlife?

Whats the difference?

You have to remember that anyone who is Athiest, like me, or even Agnostic is in a minority as some 90% of the worlds population beleive in a higher power. You can't say the same thing about someone who says he sees aliens can you?

Religion is a very personal thing for most people and I'm sure it's something which even those who are not religious have thought about deeply at some point and if not then most probably will at some point in the future.

difference is the alien idea hasnt been main stream or more around like the afterlife one.

there have been a number of messengers peace be upon them since man was about all basically saying the same thing, theres documented evidence on these messengers, more or less everyone believes they existed, however not as many believe their message

Well, your example isn't believing in a 'higher power' as such, or doesn't have any historical basis.

Regardless, those reasons wont really be enougn to justify any 'respect' if you wish to be blunty 'mathematical' about it.

Not to mention said book doesn't actually tell you not to listen to music. Just some of the more fundamentalist interpretations do.

I'm not being nick-picking, just honestly curious; Is it possible to pirate games on the PS3? I didn't think it was, and if not how else would the above have obtained the game illegally? Is importing illegal? Or is it just plain illegal to own a copy of the unedited version at all?

As i say, i'm just honestly curious as to which part of owning this game at this moment in time is illegal.

[EDIT] I'd like to add, JohnnyG modified his post after i made this query so i'm not totally thick honest :p

No you can't pirate PS3 games so anyone who is playing it will have just managed to get themselves a copy before it was recalled, which also makes me wonder if the shops that have sold it early will get in trouble now when Sony ask for there 50 copies back or whatever from game shops and they have to turn around and say sorry we broke the street date and have sold them.

The game was sold legitimately to many consumers back end of last week. msmalls74's copy is a legit USA copy. Only retailers are obliged to conform to the product recall, for items not sold. Consumers are not required to return items sold to them.

Fair enough regarding spoilers. Although spoilers seem to go undeleted (regarding game levels and features like msmalls74 mentioned) in other threads which are clearly discussing pirated copies on the 360 platform.
