Half term, not half term?

Somebody told me it's half term this week, but on the way into Town today I saw lots of School Kids. So before going home I went to meet-up with a friend at his College, but a guy there told me it's half term. :confused:

Do School/College students have their half term breaks at different times?

I've got half term next week, I guess it's different for different schools.

I dont think there is a set time that schools have to have half term etc so it will vary from school to school and college to college. At least thats how it works over here

It varies from school to school. I finish this Thursday, and go back on Wednesday (2 weeks time).

Well, almost two weeks. 12 or 13 days I think. But we started the initial term a few days earlier, so it all 'balances' out in the end.

Mum, teaches at a school, was off last week.

Dad, teaches at a college, off this week.

I think it differs but is generally next week give or take a week.

seems to be next week round here - don't like half term much cause woking town centre becomes pretty busy at lunchtime...

Most of the public schools near us are off this week, and the state schools will be next week.

College was off last week, some schools off this week, my kids nursery/primary schools off next week.
