anyone having bad pings on o2 tonight ? and some packet loss ? trying to ping news.bbc.co.uk and getting 100ms+, bad lag in wow and a fair amount of packet loss.

Yep. I'm on the phone to them right now to cancel my service as I'm still in the trial period and so far its been no where near as good as my Virgin Media, I'm sure the speed gets slower every day, 7.5mb tonight when to start with I had 9.5mb. My Virgin Media is usually 15mb+ and very often the full 20mb.

edit - the above probably explains why its taking forever to get through to them.

Im getting Slow speed and poor pings

This is Rubbish, Looks like Both Bethere and o2 going down the pan, phoned support, both first line and second line done have a clue, I do its over crowded and your trying to squeeze as many people as you can onto the service and not upgrade it.

/me going to look on samknows see if theres a better LLU service on my echange,

I thinking of just joining Sky tbh.

This says it all.

Syncing at 18.5meg. No downloads running.

Sky are worse, my mate has it and its the worst connection I have ever seen, I'd rather have AOL.

I have just canceled my O2, it was ok but really not fast enough for me, maybe if I move closer to the exchange it would be better.

good you got rid of o2, you needed your head checking anyway, no way I would go from cable system to a crappy copper adsl system.

its a tad annoying that all the good stuff is said on the BE forums... and o2 users cant access it.... very very annoying.

Upstream seems ok, but 100kB/s download with a 15017kbps sync rate.

Ah yeah, STM's in place on cable because HFC is crap. Oh wait, no, that's garbage.

o wait, like everyone can get that service, im talking of the 2wire adsl system

if you had a choice between cable or adsl I know which one you would chose

Yeah, a more expensive, limited cable service that's missing a bunch of features I find useful (like static IPs and tech support staff with a clue) and won't work with the hardware I've got. Sign me up already.

What?

Sure, not everyone can get cable (in case the penny hasn't dropped yet, Virgin Media cable == Hybrid Fibre/Coax), but you're the one saying ADSL's so bad because one ISP's having some sort of routing/congestion issue...

Hi,
If you are experiencing increased latency, please raise a ticket to our technical team who will be able to further investigate this issue for you.

LOL there's loads of us having the speed issues. It's not issolated either, manchester/bolton/Leigh (mine) and others around the country are affected, funny they can't see this.

If there was a poll on this very forum now, which is better/choice, between Cable or ADSL, I know 90% of people would like take cable everytime.

I know the sun goes down in the morning too.

Edit:
2008-10-22 20:43:01 (53.3 KB/s) - `10MB_nonzero.bin' saved [10485760/10485760]

with the sync rate from above. Here's hoping they fix whatever the hell is broken :(

I dont know how reliable this information is, but was posted on the BE thread mentioned earlier here.

Be Forum said:
Oh just did some looking around... A major Fiber backbone was accidentally cut today in london... Be is on the list of ISPs affected with this issue.

Apparently it wont be fixed till tomorrow.

So for us gamers who have clan matches tonight :/ We have to try and play with high pings...
