FARCRY 2 --- Officially , official of official threads! ---

Anyone else think the dialogue is pretty bad as well? It seems to be written well but the voice acting is nuts, they just ramble from sentence to sentence like theyre trying to fit paragraphs of words into 10 seconds or so.

Godownthehilltotheshedandfindabombtoblowupthepipeline.whileyourtherefindajeepandbringitbackhere.

That kinda thing.

Also remember at dreamhack they said about 50 hours of gameplay? Not a bit of wonder with this respawning gimmick. The one thing i really laugh at is you have a counter ingame telling you how many checkpoints you've cleared. Does this make any sense whatsoever since they all respawn back?

This seriously better get a LOT better. I've not played a game that felt so primative in ages. I can't be bothered to list because there are far too many things irking the **** out of me so far, so i'l play a little more and report back.

:D:D 3 words " give it time !!", Just like most everyone else I found this Game for the first 5 hours is frustrating as hell but stick with it and with better weapons and upgrades, no Jams etc, and with heavier vehicles You can run the roadblocks
I think this will turn out alright ;)

Yeah, H doesn#t work, he falls on the floor opens the jar and its empty... and I restart from last save. But cannot get any medicine from anywhere in enough time

Would this be early in the game when the guy tells you about locating the first diamond and going to Mike's bar for medicine? If so, then you have to locate the diamond first before heading off to Mike's Bar.

that whole malaria thing is stupid, really puts a cramp on your game exploration early on.....so so so dissapointed with this game.....the bugs are just pathetic....they should have public beta tested. :(

most annoyin thing is the constant enemy respwn at guard posts
and random jeep spwns.

if they had small check points with 2-3 ppl tht respwnd
constantly would be gd then larger check points with say 6-10 ppl
which would make it harder which when u killed them all tht check
point stayed clear.

one more thing :p the mp seems optimized for the consoles and to
me aint up to the standards of other pc mp games

Aaargh! I just got this game delivered by the postie but I can't get it to accept my serial number. It keeps saying its not listed in their database. I tried manual unlock and it said the same. I've checked it 20 odd times.

Did you enter your serial in upper or lower case? I have tried both and used the hyphens too but still no joy. Its called Keycode on the front of the manual but the installer is asking for the serial from the back of the booklet. Its the same thing right, 5 sections separated by hyphens?

I just found this message on the Ubisoft forums now I've come home from work. Tried activating again and it worked for me this time. I'm in the UK for info.

UPDATE: I am pleased to say the issue was identified and is now believed to be resolved.

Anyone who had previously had issues with their code should now please try it again, in the unlikely event you continue to have issues please file a ticket via tech support (link in my signature)

Thanks

No, there are definitely some serious fundamental problems with this game that just won't improve no matter how much you play it. The general controls feel hideous, the driving is equally hideous, and i've seen more stuff render right in front of me than Crysis Warhead (Which certainly as far as controls, voice acting, driving, and anything else i can compare to what i've played in FC2 so far, is just simply a better game by miles).

Unfortunately i have a couple of free days in between work and travel, so it will get played simply because it's there and i've completed everything else on my shelf. Though I certainly cannot see this one improving if such basic things like movement and aiming feel shoddy.

Great game, enjoying it very much...:) No problems with graphics..looks excellent. Give this game a chance, finished the tutorial and the game has really opened up, and I am having a fanstastic time in blowing things up, shooting and sniping.. The reported re-spawns I found not a problem, happens in most games... Anyway back to FarCry2 *Hardcore* mode :D

Is anyone else getting a slight stutter every so often? IIRC Willhub mentioned it in the benchmarks topic.. I'm getting a perfectly good framerate (gtx260) it just never ever seems smooth. Happens more when driving and more specifically when driving and cornering. It seems almost constant, like every 5 seconds or so.

COD4 is a far far worse cuplrit than Farcry2.

Not really, the enemies stop spawning when you move forward, in this its possible for them to spawn nomatter what you do. Only way to possibly stop them respawning on a checkpoint would be to stay there and im not even sure if that would work.

Yup. On more than one occasion enemies and vehicles have spawned right in front of me if I hung around a checkpoint for too long.

It's shameful.
