Fable 2

Can anyone explain how co-op works?
Say for example i'm further through the game than my friend, how does co-op work for us then?

PS. really enjoying it after about 5 hours play!
Finally feeling a bit of confidence with knowing what to do (i always feel daunted by new games at first)

I said I'd never spend more than 40 pounds on a game anyway I went in game in Conwy and spent 66.98 on The Limited Collectors Edition of the game and Limited Edition strategy guide. How the heck did that happen?:D Hope it was worth it.

Now I better get my 360 back from Germany some time soon. If I don't I'll play a bit of the PC version of Fable 1 again. While I wait.

Picked this up today and it's fantastic.the childhood part was pretty boring but once I got some spells it really picked up. The one quest where you spoke to the ghost and had to give that Alex women a rejection letter did you marry her or give her the rejection letter :D

Recieved this yesterday Morning and I only really just got off it now, Brilliant game far outpacing its predeccesor. While I was worried about the one button combat system I have to say my mind is now changed as well. My only problem with it, is my daughter seems to be bugged as she stands staring at the house doing nothing.

Still Excellent game and I'm glad the hype finally met the actual performance of the game:D.

Tried co-op tonight, and it really isn't that good imho. The experience is different depending on whether you invite someone to your game, or if you join someone else's game. If you join another persons game you don't take your character with you. Instead you choose from 6 generic characters: Good Male, Neutral Male, Evil Male, and then the same but for Female. You also choose which saved character from your single player game that you want the loot and XP to go to. You then join the world of the person who invited you. You don't have a dog, only the invitee gets the dog. You don't have the abilities of your characters either. In effect you are a 'Henchman' for the invitee, just a generic hero who can help out.

If you have invited someone to your game, then it's a little better because you are in your own world, so you can carry on doing your quests, leveling up, unlocking abilities etc but with the help of a friend. The main problem is that the camera gets locked for both players during coop play. In single player you can use the right stick to rotate the camera, this gets disabled, and the camera can be shockingly bad at times making it very difficult to see what is going on at times, especially if the two players end up some distance apart from each other.

Overall it was quite bad compared to the single player game, maybe a decent way to run around getting some extra money and XP, but it just didn't seem to play very well for me. Maybe it can be improved with some patches to make things a bit better.

One slightly freaky thing I noticed is that if you are playing a single player game, and one of your friends is also playing a single player game, despite no invites being sent or anything, you can see each other in the game if you happen to be in the same location on your respective games. Happened to me today, was wondering around and noticed a glowing green orb with my friends gamerpic in it and his gamertag above it. He could see me in his game as well. We kinda ran past each other, both screeched to a halt and spent a couple of seconds walking backwards and forwards trying to figure out what was going on. You can target your friends orb and send them gifts and stuff from your game world which I though was cool.

I married her but she got killed by some bandits when i was fighting with them.
I went back to see the ghost and she was back with him.
She said to him that i and the ghost had set her up and she then buggered off somewhere else.
I never even got the chance to screw it.
The more you play the better this game gets.

I was able to transfer my abilities to my henchman during couch co-op by pressing Y when picking your henchman. I haven't tried it in Live co-op so I'm not too sure if it works there.

Ahhh cheers , I'll have to try it out again, didn't realise you could do that. It would certainly make more sense to be able to do that :)

I played it for a few hours with a friend and it was good. Gonna play it properly by myself on sunday. Need a chilled out session :)

Good game!

Co-op is crap though and i'm offended by it. They shouldn't of even bothered adding it, if you aren't the host you pretty much can't do anything is quite pointless. Not even sure how it can be called co-op.. all you can do is share gold and share emotion points. Not fun.

Single player is very grabbing and great, can see a lot of time and work went into this game, there is a high amount of freedom in how you go about things. I'm not normally a fan of RPGs but this really has me captured. So far for me this ranks right up there with the best games i've played, I would agree with the reviews.

BEST thing is I found a MILF and stole her from her family and now i'm having her! :D Good times!

I really like it so far. But i'm just really struggling on deciding whether I should go round rampaging on people or being really good! At the moment i'm about in the middle of the good/evil scale and im not sure if my character will become as 'interesting' as say a fully good or a fully evil one. Any ideas?
I havent morphed much apart from some silver veins on my face from using magic. I'm not sure i'm far enough through for anything else to have changed (I've just dug up Luciens diary)

Just a headsup to be a little careful with coop.

Don't bring your character into a friends game when he's still a child.

I brought mine into a local coop game with my daughter, played through to the gypsy camp then saved and quit.

When I came back to my game all my stats had been wiped. All my abilities, gold and renown were 0.

A game over bug basically as you don't have enough renown to carry on and worse, your will goes to 0, you lose all your spells and therefore can't cast any to get more will.

Lionhead have admitted the problem now and have issued a warning.

So be warned!

* I finally found a way to glitch back some experience and then showed a trophy off for hours to get my renown back so I could carry on... bloody pain though!

I've actually now encountered a game ending bug related to my earlier glitch. I won the jackpot in a game of spinner box and when I cashed in I got an "Plaits hairstyle card" dialogue box that won't go away how ever many times I click accept. I've tried restarting but it's there the moment I load.

Ho hum, game over.

I tried that on a lady but she wasn't having any of it.

I have just done the first hero quest, do the ladies in the game get any fitter? I have one girl with nice baps who likes me, but I don't want to marry her only to find out there is some hot blonde in the next town.

I think next time I play I'll just explore and hunt for girls.

One thing I am dissapointed in, everytime I leave a town it fast travels somewhere else automatically, I was hoping for a massive world I could just explore, ala Oblivion, is this not the case?

I think you are about same point as me. I do a little dance and all the ladies wanna marry me, but I dunno if I wanna mary them yet!! Found a few buxom wenches in the 1st town who are gagging for it tbh. I dunno how much extra micro management a kid and wife might mean at this point in the game.

I am tempted to skip the kid and wifey till later or 2nd run through game. This time round trying to be a good guy (although helping that damn ghost made me a negative even though my alternative was to marry his wife, which I didn't want to!!)

So far I bought 3 market stalls and chopped a lot of wood and made a lot of stuff at the blacksmiths.

Awesome game tbh, past Peter Molyneux games, always end up over doing the micro management at some point, so far this seems spot on, although I still have some reservations about the marraige/kids parts.

I'm home from Wales and my 360 was waiting for me yay. I was worried it'd be in Germany for ages. I think I'll get myself hyped with the Bonus disc then play the game. :D
