BBC Issue apology over Ross/Brand 'Prank'

I used to like Ross but his show went down hill when he decided that saying the F word was funny.

It clearly isn't.

Brand is just a tool.

Oh dear - forget that last question... Just heard his "apology" on the BBC site. He might be a bright lad, but if he thinks the swearing was the reason behind the backlash, then he's more clueless than people think.

I actually liked Brand (especially after that US roadtrip), but there are certain people you don't mess with... Sachs never did anything to offend anyone, and a lot more talented than Brand. Sachs is an "untouchable" - one of those icons in British culture that people just don't mess with, as it invariably ends in the "toucher" getting burnt hard. In much the same way as the press don't go after Frank Bruno any more.

As for Ross, he's no better than Kelvin McKenzie in my book after this.

Words cannot express how much I loath Ross and Brand. The only comparison of the rage that emits from myself when either are on TV/radio, is to liken it to the "wtf boom" videos on youtube. As someone already stated Brand is the most unfunny comedian ever. Both Russell and Jo. And I agree with whoever said Brand is pseudo-intelligent. Another one I hate is Ricky Gervais. His shows are great. His stand up is bloody awful.

I'd hazard a guess that there won't be re-runs of Brand or Ross shows in 30 years time. Just a couple of occasionally amusing idiots being embarassed by a man with genuine talent and class.

I'm sorry but you can't deny Ross makes an excellent or at least interesting character for interviewing. I always prefered him to Parkinson.

Can't believe that this was the top story on the ITV news at 10pm.

Seriously, who gives a toss?

These two should be sacked and face a police investigation for making abusive phone calls.

Is that a little harsh?

Saw this on the news last night. Absolutely disgusted  Brand should be sacked and never allowed to work in TV or Radio again. Ross should have known better, and would do well to donate a significant percentage of his BBC contract to charity!

Taken in context it quite clearly isn't.

"I would like to take this opportunity to issue a personal Russell Brand apology to Andrew Sachs, the great comic actor who played Manuel, for a message Jonathan and I left on his answerphone, but it was quite funny."

The insult comes at the end. :p
