Due to his convictions for possessing child porn and obscene acts against children, Do You Wanna Touch Me is quite possibly one of the most inappropriate songs to choose from his back catalogue.

And you think HP give a crap about that? It's getting them media coverage that would otherwise be non-existent for this kind of advert.

Terrible thing to do....and they know it. Give it a few days and they'll pull the advert on the grounds of not wanting to offend anyone. How lovely.

Same thing, I think, happened with LittleBigPlanet being pulled...of all the songs in all the world they happen to chose one that fits in nicely with the media and their interest in anything terror/Muslim related. What are the chances. :rolleyes:

the song fits the product, and its not sung by him, however the fact that this nonce gets royalties is the biggest issue

The song fits, and it just so happens that it's his song and they have to pay royalties to use it. Maybe I'm just too blaze about this sort of thing, and totally not a DM reader.

It amazes me how Gary Glitter's music is being erased from history but Pete Townshend is free to do what he likes.
Nobody gives a rats ass that CSI plays all his tunes.

It fits well with the advert, he's not singing it either. I woudn't have known it was a Glitter song had it not come up in the media and I'm sure that's the case for the majority of people.

This is my major issue (or should that be non-issue?) with it, just because people do terrible things doesn't mean that the music is now terrible or maybe that's just me.

If you were going to pick up every musician for their indiscretions or alleged indiscretions then you'd be left with a rapidly dwindling pool - probably largely involving Christian rock or similar to choose from and I can only hope that fate never happens.
