i've got a Nokia N95 8GB sitting around, nothing wrong with it apart from the speaker that the voice comes through during a call doesnt work, everything else works perfectly on it and theres hardly a scratch on it. i put in my details and they said i could get £139.94 in cash (cheque) or if i took argos credit i could get £160.93.

has anyone used them? and out of the 2 options a cheque for £139.94 or £160.93 in argos credit?

I haven't used them but I have used Mazuma mobile without problems before, they might belong to the same parent company for all I know but you'll get an extra few quid from them.

checked with them, mine would have to go through as a non-working model due to a speaker/mic fault but they still said i would get £80 for it!, but on envirofone they dont have the option for non-working models, only that they'll contact me with a quote...

Ah right, in that case it sounds like they'll test it and then get back to you with a valuation so you probably won't get that much more money. I don't know if it will make any difference in this case selecting between the two. How much would getting the fault fixed cost? It might be worth it to get it put through as fully working.

hmm good point, i'll go down to a local phone place and see about gettin it fixed

just tried the phone, its all working including the speaker but its a bit fuzzy if u know what i mean, its not totally clear, so do you think its worth getting a new speaker put in or send it off as it is but at the risk of not getting the £150 because there is technically a fault with the speaker?

I'd still probably check out what it would cost to get the speaker fixed, if it is only going to cost £20 or so then it would be worth it to guarantee the £60 over a non-working phone, if it is much more than that then I'd be more tempted to take my chances and see what they say.

Just a warning about getting it repaired. If any hidden warranty markers are damaged from having the casing opened then quite a few companies will not accept it. Place where I work is like this as they rely on the original warranty markers to offer/validate their own warranty.

While I remember, if the speaker is still working but distorted google the following words to find a possible fix.

n95 suck blow fix

I have tried this on a few n95's and have had quite a bit of success, despite looking like a prat while doing it :)
