Locked the keys in my boot! Oh yes I did feel stupid stood in Tesco car park with my little sister in the freezing night air. Packed the shopping into the boot and unwittingly placed my keys in there to. I closed the boot lid and unfortunately the car had already locked itself thus preventing me from hitting the boot catch lever inside the drivers foot well.

Green flag came and broke into my car by prizing the door open :(
So how about you make me feel less stupid and tell me what silly things you have done with your motor?

I locked my 18 month old (at the time) daughter in the car (Toad Alarm auto locks etc).
Luckily had a spare FOB at home.

I've started the car and put it in gear. Tried to figure out for two minutes why the car wasn't moving.

Handbrake was up :o

thats a strong handbrake!
normally if i do the same i can either hear it or feel that its on, though thats while moving.
in a manual you would normally get a big dip as the car tries to move off but cant

Have done something similar, man i felt stupid. Must have looked a prat also, stalled it a couple of times trying to move away before i realised.

I was quite embarrassed i done this before. I was going to pull off at a set of lights and the car wasn't going anywhere and the engine was just revving. I was thinking that the clutch was gone, so was putting more and more revs on and slowly lifting the clutch pedal trying to feel the bite, nothing. I was just about to put my hazards on thinking the car was bust when i realised i had knocked the car out of gear.

Went to uni and parked in a space facing a small wooden railing.
Returned to car a few hours later.
Got in, started up.
Looked over shoulder ready to reverse out.
Reached down to palce the car in "reverse".
Clutch up, accelerator down.
Lurched forwards into railing.
Facepalm.

:/

I've done similar this was back when I had my Focus

Lost concentration at the lights and realised the lights had suddenly gone green then proceeded to floor it and lift the clutch obviously not going anywhere as the car was in neutral :p

I completely forgot how to reverse the other night, put it in 5th, nope, 1st, nope, had to turn the light on and look :s

While reversing i pushed the accelerator instead of the break and bounced off a curb. Big feet, small car, trying to do stuff quickly = fail lol. Luckily the car was completely fine. Felt like a noob though!

Reversed my Mondeo into a DAF tractor unit, taking out my rear light & 1/4 panel. :o

Demolished a large wall turning an articulated truck around in a space more suitable for a Transit.....:o

OP, why didn't you just ring a family member or someone and get them to bring you the spare keys? I'd rather that than have my car damaged :p That's unless of course you only have one set of keys..

Stupidest thing I've done recently is almost drive through a carpark barrier. I was just sort of fixated on the car infront of me, as it took him a while to get through, so I started moving when he did :o Managed to stop before putting the barrier before my windscreen though ;)
