I ALMOST DIED :O

Quality!

Never managed to get a drift going on anything other than mud/dust :p What bike is it, and what tyres are you using?

There is a large amount of cycle hatred on this forum btw :)

What difference does that make.

What, apart from it being the pedestrians' fault for being in the cycle lane? Oh, not much.

Irony++ as morons complain about cyclist being on wrong part of carriageway, when it was in fact pedestrians in his part of the carriageway.

Did you people not read he was on a uni campus, there was no road.

I read it and I still think cycling though groups of pedestrians is dumb.

I cycle every day so i love cyclists; I just hate the ones who give other cyclists a bad name.

If the OP was on a cycle path then that's fine, but cycling on footpaths and listenting to music whist doing it (not sure if the OP was doing this) is just foolish.

Von, unfortunately almost everyone here has an irrational hatred of cyclists, and will when challenged bring up a situation where a cyclist once agrieved them slightly, and blind hatred of anyone on a bike will result for the rest of their life.

Riding on the roads listening to tunes is way to dangerous considering the amount of un-coordinated nuggets that are given driving licences these days! I'll chill with me tunes and grind up the pavement thanks :D
Cyclists shouldn't be listening to music whilst cycling, it takes away one of the senses and is dangerous.

I don't mind cyclists so long as they stay off both the road and pavement!

Cyclists are on the road by right, you have have to buy a licence to use a car on the road.

I will cycle on the road as much as I like! I will admit that there are a few crazy cyclists out there that give most rational cyclists a bad name, however, i am damn sure there are a large number of nutter drivers out there too!

Cyclist v Driver - Its a never ending stupid argument that will live on forever.

There are bad cyclists, and bad drivers. GET OVER IT PEOPLE.

I get off the train every night and make my ways back to my bike locked at the station and every night a woman gets off with her little Brompton, puts on her helmet, her hi-viz jacket, her hi-viz humpback, her hi-viz cycle clips, her hi-viz wrist bands, her cats-eyes and then puts on her bloody ipod and sets off cycling down the path.

I really want to poke her eyes out.

Using that theory cars shouldn't be fitted with radios/cd players etc

Cyclists are at greater risk of accident, injury and death than drivers.

more people die in cars than people on bicycles
Buckled wheel? Fix your bike.
it's not broken. Just not perfect ;)

just for the record i don't cycle with headphones on. I tried it once and didn't like not being able to hear cars coming up behind me etc!

I have cycled a few times with music on, and to be honest, as long as its quiet you can hear everything you need to. I find it quite un-comfortable though, so wont really do it for journeys longer than 10 miles, cause it hurts my little ears :p

This is kent uni, I'm guessing between the main campus and parkwood or from the main campus down to canterbury (down a steep hill so the cyclists go pretty fast). Either way a ridiculous number of people walk on the cycle path so there's not much cyclists can do.

(I haven't used a bike since I was in primary school but I still don't walk on the cycle paths)
