Try the store or a game that requires you to be online (Warhawk for example)
Login servers seem to be back up though
fair enough - I noticed the store wasn't up and was hoping they were updating it with stuff
The online feature for SSHD was working though, which is where I've been for what seems like the last couple hours (or days? It's still Tuesday isn't it? 
) trying to get the late boomer trophy - must've got 14 bombs about 6 or 7 times now, nearly cried twice - once when I had 14 bombs AND a shield, so close, so close *sniff* lol, i like you stig mate, you've got a decent brain on your shoulders but put it to better use, stirring never helped anyone.
As usual with the PSN, it's probably getting ready for an upgrade, same happened before the ingame XMB patch AND when they upgraded the playstation store. As with anything that is free - patience is required.

I can't honestly be the only one who thought TheStig's post was funny surely 
I'm sure he didn't mean any malice by it... but for the love of God some of you guys need to bite your tongue and realise some things are a joke and not instantly a jibe at your beloved consoles

Well, i thought it was funny, but i also think as you roughly stated in that post that some people are easily riled up here and at the end of the day starting confrontations never helped anyone. It probably wasn't a good idea but it did make me laugh
IMO 2.5 is just around the corner and is probably responsible, it's been rumored for ages and as we know rumors in this industry typically become fact.
Either that or the stupid HOME fools (i'm looking at you maniacman) broke Sony.
I wouldn't mind if Home turned up soon... but I wouldn't be jumping up and down like a little kid about it.

I honestly think you are in the majority on that one but i really do (probably foolishly) have faith in Sony delivering, they may nearly always be late but when they get their stuff out the door it usually works well (only exception is the early PS3 operating system, but in that case they were just REALLY late to the party i guess). The concept doesn't deliver for me, but then neither did god of war (just thought it would be another hack and slash) until i played it.
