What class are you?

He asked 3 girl Chav's what class they were and one of them said they were middle class.
Prescott said "But you are most definitely working class" and the girl said "No I'm not, I don't go to work" :D

I don't think that classification is realistic, for today at least. I would say anyone who has large amounts of expendable money, for example, has a luxurious life style or has attended a public school, would fit in as being upper class.

I have been very privaledged in that I live in a nice house and have been supported throughout university. My family has never had any posh cars, stupidly expensive holidays, any luxurious or posh items. Christmas is always very low key (as are Birthdays by some other peoples standards) and my parent's budget their incomes. We are very comfortable and are in the progress of having an extention.

As such, I can conclude I am upper-middle class.

Someone who comes to mind as being upper class on the forums is Rotty (merely through travelling buisness class, expensive cars and watches). Oh and Concord Rules is definately upper class due to some of his ridiculous comments off the forum :D

The interesting one is lower middle class: most people who fall into that category usually describe themselves as working class in an interesting bit of reverse snobbery.

I Would go upper-middle on the parents side of things, but back to upper-working for me and the gf just now till get some money behind us. But then I guess the support of knowing that parents will support us if needed takes us back to middle.

I dont do holidays etc, I work hard and have got into a job where I can make progress. Went to privet school. I/ the gf have got 2 cars, motorbike, few small boats(dingys), a flat we own etc. Which i am aware is well more than most people at 23 but a lot less than some really established middle/uppers class. Really it was all my parents hard work to get me to where I am just now, they came from very low working class, but both familys had the right attitudes to get them selves sorted and jump a good few classes in a relatively short time for all off there own back (not inheriting anything).

Working and proud.

Some may call me middle class - or lower middle if there is such a thing.
 
simple if you work you working class, if you dont and have no capital your scum class, if you have capitail and dont work you middle, if your a duke lord etc.. you upper.

I'm a Laird but work and have little capital. Where does that leave me?
 
what if you work your wife works and you have money does that make you working class because you work for your money?
 
I'm working class? professional parents but I am now a truck driver (recent career change).

Truckers seem to think I went to public school and am a bit posh.....
