Today I turned n the 360 to see a single red light light smiling back at me. I jumped onto the internet to see what this meant and with the code (E74) found it that it may be the AV cable or some ship. I tried a cable which I knew worked from a mate and confirmed it is indeed the chip.
I called Microsoft and had the throat stabbing pleasure of speaking to Max, Microsofts automatic voice guy who speaks annoyingly (like a stereotypical Californian cartoon surfer). After fighting past him I got a real person to speak to and they said that the warranty is only extended to 3 years for the RROD, nothing else. Therefore I was told I have to pay £60 to get it fixed, which I don't have.
Has anyone else had this thrown at them? I think it's terrible that the most unreliable console on the market only extended it's warranty to one single fault from the long list that exists? Also, has anyone managed to get it done free if they've had a fault like this? This warranty farce seems very unfair.
