The Zombie Invasion Strategy Thread

I'm watching Dead Set aswell and I ended up checking out some gun websites hahaha. Made me think about getting one, but how effective would an Air rifle really be against a zombie, assuming they can be disabled by a shot in the brain?

Far as I'm aware, your body can't really function, as in move normally without a brain. Well, only for a little while.

well considering a zombies brain will still be protected by its skull i would say an air rifle would be pretty useless

Unless it was an extremely close range shot and acurate. Although i sure some more powerful air rifles could do it from a long range.

You can get over powered air rifles which are technically fire arms, i dont have a clue how to get a hold of one though.

You can tweak decent air rifles. beyond legal limit.

However I couldn't do it having never done it myself or not owning one.

suprised this hasnt been posted yet

Surely a motorcycle helmet would be quite a good investment? Come to that, decent biking leathers would be quite a good idea too.

Yeah thats what it says in one of my zombie survival guide books. And also an offroad motorcycle would be useful for access to fields, forests and quick travel.

Read this book The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection from the Living Dead.

Its an awesome book thats just for fun :) Its got all of the survival techniques for your protection.

Totally awesome book! Reading it again, getting some really strange looks on the train on my commute!
Also tells you that getting a boat from the marina is not the best thing to do :p

Oh and the fast things from 28 Days Later etc aren't real Zombies!

Yep all you would need to protect from errant bites or scratches is decent leather clothing which covers your vital areas. The movies like to portray zombies tearing people apart. They would have a hard time of drawing blood on bare skin let alone tearing out your throat with their teeth. You might have a problem if they have sharp nails but even so you would not be as much, at risk as the majority of these zombie films like to portray if they got up close(except for the puking ones in 28 days)

I don't know actually, a good bite could easily tear ones skin, especially if they where being savage.

As well as general nails, enough pressure behind them is always enough to tear the skin to some extent...but then it also depends if they virus is spread by blood or anything.

They could be, how do YOU know? eh? eh?!

They are infected with the Rage virus, different from Solanum infection :p

/geek

Ugh.

We don't know what we're dealing with yet! besides, they are just takes on zombification so to speak...Although yes technically the rage virus isn't a Zombie as such.

But it is still the same scenario theoretically.

Take zombies in the RE games...they may be slow, but you soon die don't you :S

That's a point....why the hell are the dogs so fast and the humans are blumbering idiots.

Newsflash!

Not sure what I'd do in a full on zombie situation, probably try not to get killed while protecting the kids.

I find it's always good strategy to ensure zombie attack is listed on your change control document under "reasons not to" prior to a server rebuild.
