Xbox 360 no hdmi?

I friend of mine has given me a 360 from what i can tell it looks quite old and there is no hdmi slot on the back :confused:

The display on the tv looks no better than a ps2 from what i can tell am i doing something wrong when setting it up or is this the way it is?

i am using a 1080i hd tv.

It should look much better than a PS2 if you have a HDTV.

How is it connected to the TV?
You should be using component or VGA if your TV has the connections. Don't use composite.

Have you checked if the resolution is correct in the system settings. Also if the switch on the cable is on HDTV?

Sounds definitely like you've used the composite inputs rather than the component ones.

Im using the cable that came with it. like 3 cables that converts to a scart connection ?

which are the leads that i need? :confused:

That's composite, that will only show SD not HD.
Does the cable have green, blue and red cables? If so, use them.

nope only yellow, white and red. Righty im going go get the proper lead for it now

yea, the original had both, and a switch for HD/SD and you use the relevant plugs

only on the Premiums. the original Core systems only had a standard composite cable

The picture quality would be the same, which is what I assume he meant, rather than graphical quality.
