Microwaved Burgers

TBH.

Love them. I've got a couple of microwave chicken and beef burgers in the fridge right now. Not Rustlers either, even cheaper than that. :D

They are are rank, terrible they are only £1 how can you get meat and bread and the packaging and make a profit from £1, they are terrible, you could get some mince meat and make it into the shape of a burger and cook it for 10 mins in a oven and job done.

Why people really think its good to have food that can be cooked in under a minute.

I have only ever had one, it was poor, tasteless and full of all sorts and very high in fat.

theres a really good microwave burger for a pound i've seen recently (hot dogs too) and its really good, just put lots of BBQ sauce on it. for 1 min in the microwave, ultimate lazyman snack.

My favourite lazyman snack - pouch of microwavable pilau rice (40p from B&M), tin of tuna (3 for £1, IIRC, also from B&M). Nuke rice, stir in tuna, eat. I had some with tuna in tomato and onion earlier, that was quite nice.

Admittedly, it does take 2 whole minutes.

How's this for expecting too much convenience? I prefer tuna in sunflower oil but I've bought tuna in brine instead. Not because only brine was available - they were next to each other on the shelf. Not because brine was cheaper - they were the same price. The tuna in brine has a ring-pull lid, the tuna in sunflower oil requires a tin opener.

there is a difference between rare meat and crap meat.

In £1 microwaveable burgers, the meat is indeed rare...but not in the sense of being undercooked :)

I used to think they were OK. Then I had a proper beef burger, made with beef that wasn't 50% recovered scrapings from carcasses (or the floor) and 50% filler.

Rustlers are quite decent tbh, got to love all the people that think they are made from dog **** and are horrid. I guess they only eat burgers with 100% meat content.

mmmm.... Calcium Phosphate... sounds good!

For the production of phosphoric acid and fertilizers, for example in the Odda process. Overuse of certain forms of calcium phosphate can lead to nutrient-containing surface runoff and subsequent adverse effects upon receiving waters such as algal blooms and eutrophication.

I've always had a morbid curiosity about microwave burgers. I really want to try one, but I've always been dubious.

The fruity liberal in my always rails against the amount of PET packaging in a £1.10 "meal" too.
