Samsung Omnia I900 owners thread.

Camalot, does coreplayer work on your phone? Everything else is great with the new ROM but coreplayer wont start - any ideas?

it's a problem with omnias, both core and tcpmp fail to start...

if you search for following on google, it's a modded tcpmp player that works on omnias, when running goto video option and choose 'intel xscale', it will allow you to play pretty much any DivX / Xvid with no stutters and without having to resize the movie.

TCPMP-0.72RC1-ARM-PPC-recomp-03

Gmail IMAP is terrible - use POP for Gmail.

It won't let me!... when I put in my email address and password it jumps to the next screen saying 'Googlemail settings found' there's no where to tell it to use POP and the IMAP bit is greyed out when I go back in!!.

create a new account, then you'll get the option, after creating delete the default 'changeme.co.uk' account if still there.

you'll still have a empty 'outlook' labeled account but it's not used...

Nope.. still get "Settings Found for Googlemail" when I click next after putting my email and password in!..

*EDIT* Found this trolling through Google: http://www.tracyandmatt.co.uk/blogs/index.php/2008/09/18/windows-mobile-6-1-smtp-issues

Looks like its a WMv6.x problem!...

I don't think you can.. reading past pages (quite far back) it looks like you have to start it every time you re-boot your phone..

Most people (like me) on here leave their phones on 24/7 so it doesn't effect them!..

Fair enough, its crap that as soon as you hit the end call button it closes it and goes back to normal today page.

you should be able to then go into settings and setup everything, googlemail works flawlessly on my omnia, well it did till I bricked it lol

tried setting it up as pop (managed it by putting in a false email then editing it later)... it wouldn't pick up my emails at all!... went back to IMAP for now!... I'll just tell everyone to use my yahoo mail till google/Misrosoft sort the problem!... there's supposed to be an 'update/fix' coming soon looking on the Microsoft WM forums!...

Ha. I thought that was just me :p

I'm back to the normal today screen now, which is fine for what I want.

SW.

yup ive removed it and am using samsung 2 and s2u, works grand. Havent had any blank screens in days either, wonder if its down to s2u overwriting something....

s2u is great!... got it going to screen off in 15 seconds on Battery and on all the time scrolling through 80 (odd) wallpapers with the analogue clock and next appointment when plugged in!.. plus I like the iPhone style strokie thing to unlock the phone.. though mine then goes to my password screen for added security!!

Hi guys,

just got my phone today and I'm charging it after running the battery completely flat. Can someone point me to the right direction to updating the phone so the battery life is better (or so I've heard I'm suppose to...)

And on another note, if there is wireless and the phone's connected, it will by default use the wireless to surf the internet/emails e.t.c. and not connect via 3G (and subsequently getting charged in next months bill)?

HELP!!!!

I need some help here - got my Omnia today, and put loads of music in the 'My Storage' bit (it says 'Removable Disk' in Vista), but now I can't find it on the phone!! It's there when I plug it in, but when I go into the touch player and update, it only finds the 6 files I have for ringtones! The 'My Storage' bit also doesn't show up when I go into File Explorer. Does anyone know where I can find the extra files that I copied across?

Many thanks if you can help!

EDIT: Also v annoyed as T-Mobile have removed the Google Maps app!! I know people on here have got TomTom, but I don't want to pay out extra for that as I already have a dedicated TomTom unit! It just would have been nice to have the mapping app on the phone (like it's supposed to!) so I didn't have to take the other unit everywhere!

Does anyone know how to turn off WAP/GPRS only? I'm on Vista, running on out of the box firmware i900XXHG5 with Orange. I've been using the internet on it via wireless (or at least I think I am), so to make sure I'm not going to get charged, I want to turn off WAP/GPRS.

Cheers.
