me too...downloaded a lot quicker this morning after I gave up last night

awesome scenes of carnage with piles of corpses and spattered walls..shot the car with the car alarm just to see what would happen..it was bedlam..got cut of surrounded and slaughtered

Both...you can play off-line with bots as your team mates.

Well they can go swing for it if they think that giving us a demo limited in such a way will make me want to buy it, has done the exact opposite in my case and I wont waste the bandwidth to download a demo I may or may not get the opportunity to play.

A demo exists simply to help you decide whether or not you like the game enough to buy it. If you have decided you don't like it, fair play, but there's no need to get upset about it - it's not like they're obliged to provide a demo at all.

Or... well, I may just leave it run while the PC is on anyway... but that's pathetic. No idea why, the rest of my net is running alright, just Steam is crawling now.

EDIT:well, disconnecting and reconnecting Steam has sped it up a bit. Averaging around 100k, with bursts of 300k. Still rubbish, but better than 40k

yeah mine stayed on like 30k for an hour, fluctuating like mad...then suddenly went to 200k or so and came down within the hour

I can't connect to Steam at all, it just freezes on "connecting to account". :/ ffs

k reboot fixed that. Maxing my 2 meg connection now.

Dont load steam directly, just try the link in the first post and have steam install the game that way

Its only a short demo so I recommend you all try it on expert and work your way down. People I played with were not too bright, but headshots are good and closing doors helps stem the flow I reckon

I had a very quick go this morning, more ot see if it would even run on my seriously aged P4 2.8ghz comp, and I was very pleasantly surprised to find it running very nicely indeed, was good fun too, until one of the big ones exploded and covered me in yellow goo which attracted a huge swarm, then it was panic time!!!

Looking forward to having another go this evening.

Exactly, so why would you make it so limited.

That would be the point, such a limited demo pretty much precludes me ever having a chance to try it and actually being afforded the opportunity to make an informed judgement on it.

Who's upset? not me, just stating the facts as I see them, it's a game, plenty of others out there who seem to be happy to supply a demo I will actually be able to play and therefore far more likely to get my money.

i played it for 1 min this morning before work and it was an amazing min of gaming, cant wait to coop it up tonight with my mates, woohoooo left 4 dead/cod5 coop ace'ness
