Steam pricing has always been garbage, it's not exactly hard to figure out, take COD4 for instance...thats still more expensive than half the new games out at the moment.
Buy it in the shops, or online, you can get it for about £20 delivered, so hey.
I know, COD4 was just insanity.
I LIKE Steam, that's the thing.
When I learned Crysis Warhead was coming to Steam, I cancelled my £15 preorder, and bought it from Steam instead for nearly £20.
I thought it was worth the few extra quid, for the benefits of Steam.
However, Left 4 Dead is a lot more than just a few quid in it.
You're right, I didn't even know it was coming out on disk until I checked just now. Obvious I guess, but I've got so used to thinking about using Steam only, I forgot about the retail disk method.
I swore I'd never buy another PC disk game, as I hate all the needing a disk in the drive, hunting for, and installing, your own patches... I just like Steam... buy, download, play. No nocd required, auto patching, great!
However, if Left 4 Dead will just plug straight into Steam, and mean I can install it, and literally throw the box and DVD in the bin, no longer required, as Steam will auto patch it, and run with out the disk in the drive, then I'm happy to buy a disk version again.
(I wouldn't actually throw the disk away, I just mean that once it's in Steam, if it works the same way as the Steam version, as if I'd bought it through Steam, then I'll be happy)
Vin.
