My nephew has asked me to buy him a few PC Games for him, with Christmas approaching. I have decided to buy him Fallout 3, and he already wanted GTA IV. But I want to buy him one more game.
He likes FPS and 3 Person games with lots of action. I have a small list, but not sure which one to go with, but I am thinking its between the top 2 of the selection.
Far Cry 2
Dead Space
Tomb Raider: Underworld
Left 4 Dead
Call Of Duty: World At War
Gears Of War
Any suggestions???
Far Cry 2 - It is a good game, just, its a hit and miss with some people...the apparent 'open world' isn't so 'open' most of the time, yes you can roam as you will, but you still can't physically go everywhere, ie up some mountains for example. You may get frustrated over the check points as well. You may also get bored of the campaign, the main missions are fine (although they seem to be just go there, kill x, go here, see whats happening...oh wait kill him)

..the side missions can get very repetitive I find.
Dead Space - I have on idea personally, I've heard a few good thing's on this forum about it, so I may get it one day...I've heard more negativity about Far Cry 2.
Tomb Raider - I played the demo on Steam the other day...If he enjoys puzzles, and likes to 'figure' ways of getting to places, like the last game, then he will probably will enjoy this...however I'll probably give it a miss for now.
Left 4 Dead - All I can say is, get the demo if you haven't done all ready...I find it exciting, and every time I've played it now, it has been slightly different. Baring in mind, this is only two levels, and ONE type of game play mode...So I am hoping there is more to come.
Call Of Duty: World At War - Again, I haven't even touched this game, because there does not appear to be a demo? I've got weird feelings about it to be fair...As in Call of Duty 3 repeat feelings...But don't take my word for it.
Gears of War - Now...Have you palyed the 360 version? It is, a very good game, I certainly enjoyed it...although there where some parts that got frustrating, and where ridiculously HARD...mind you I was playing on hard so hey! As well as that...because people are SO good at porting games these days, it is a bit of a system hog for what the game is graphically...If you can get it on the cheap, I would do that. (I got it for £10)
Meh, just my take
(Having just read your post again...It's going to be hard choosing, as your buying for someone else...but never mind

)
