Do you ever go to a gig just for the support?

Guns'n'Roses @ Gateshead Stadium in June '92

Could give a monkey's about them and was only interested in Faith No More and Soundgarden.... left before old wavy slaphead came on and started whining about that sweet child o' his. Job done.

I have went to see bon jovi in 2006 because nickelback were supporting them (they are my 2 fav bands)
I had already seen bon jovi live and so had my mate so we were just about to leave to beet the traffic when bon jovi went of for the first time and as we were turning to head to the entrance the intro for dry county came on and I grabbed my mate and dragged him back and my arms went up with me shouting hell yeah it was amazing.

(I had always wanted to see bon jovi preform dry county live ever since I first heard the song many years ago)

Firstly his music is not to my tastes. I find his music increasingly cheesy with every year I grow older.

Cerebral? Hmm, if you are implying his playing is 'too clever' to the detriment of his songs then perhaps.

The crowd was sooo boring. Oh man. But it wasn't their fault, Satriani played for 2 hours, which dragged. He played mind numbing songs from his mind numbing latest album. The only real highlight was 'Time Machine'.

He also just isn't cool. Steve Vai and Joe Satriani are not cool. Far too nerdy.

Gilbert is different because of his attitude. Its a bit sad he has gone to making instrumental albums.... but fear not he is bringing out a new vocal album out in the next few months :D

LOL, looks like I was bang on then. Let me guess, he opened with Time Machine...

It'd take serious money for me to admit that they're my two favourite bands in public.

I'm forming another band that won't play as often but we will be concentrating on Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Uriah Heep.
last night the guitarist rang me up and suggested Livin On A Prayer and I don't think I've ever sworn so much in 30 seconds.

Anyway, Robosapien -
There should be a law passed that an artist can only release one instrumental album and death will occur if they try and do more.
Therefore Vai should have stopped with Flex-able and Satriani should have stopped with Surfing With The Alien.

no i havent but have dicovered bands i didnt know, i saw funeral for a friend supporting maiden a few years ago and they were awesome live but when i got their cd i wasn't overly keen.

Nah, that was kind of the suprise mid-set. He opened with 'I just want to rock'... followed by some terrible songs of his new album. *cringe*

I think he should just join a band now.
